We are looking for a Senior In Vitro Laboratory Technician for our Brain and Adipose Biology group. If this sounds interesting to you, please read along here.

The position
As Senior In Vitro Laboratory Technician you will:

• Be responsible for in vitro cell culturing and ex vivo or primary tissue handling.
• Be responsible for setting up assays.
• Be responsible for conducting functional readouts, data handling and logging results in our electronic workbooks.
• Be on the forefront on new technologies and new ways of working in the laboratory.
• Collaborate closely with scientists and technicians within and outside the group.

Qualifications
We imagine you have:

• An educational background as a Laboratory Technician or similar, and you have at least a few years of experience from a similar position.
• A flair and interest for automation and the technical aspects of laboratory instruments.
• Hands-on experience and with one or several of the following: transfection of cells, qPCR, receptor binding assays, receptor signalling assays.
• Research experience from the pharmaceutical industry, but it is not a requirement.
• Good communication skills, and are preferably proficient in English, both written and verbally.

Most important is, that you are passionate about the craftsmanship of being a Laboratory Technician, and if you are proactive, can work independently and have a collaborative and social spirit, we look very much forward to hearing from you.

About the department
The Brain and Adipose Biology group are located in Maaloev in the greater Copenhagen area of Denmark. We are part of the Global Drug Discovery organisation, who are responsible for testing pharmacological ideas for the treatment of patients with cardiometabolic diseases. Our group consists of 7 technicians, 7 scientists, 3 PhD student, an associate scientist, and a technician trainee. We are specialised in in vitro and ex vivo assays, where we strive to bridge the gap between in vitro and in vivo by using human derived cells and models mimicking physiological conditions. The primary purpose of our group specifically is to explore specific compounds mode-of-action and to explore which part of cell physiology can be potential target to treat certain diseases. Finally, we are a group of people who care a lot about each other, the way we work and the social aspect of being a well-functioning group.
