Overview:
Responsible for managing training needs of assigned key lines of business/functions across the Commercial Bank, which are complex in nature and have a high degree of change driven by external and internal factors. Senior Learning Consultants act as the relationship manager (liaison) between business lines and Learning and Development, consulting on long range and intermediate training requests throughout the year. Work with senior leaders in business lines to identify learning needs and offer learning solutions that directly impact improved job performance and better achievement of bank goals. Oversee the design and development of necessary learning and development curricula.
Primary Responsibilities:
Works strategically with the Commercial Stakeholders, Value Chain Owners, Human Resource Business Partners and Senior Management to determine the needs for training in a variety of competencies.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously .
Strong working knowledge of the business to understand how learning initiatives can be linked to improving business and individual performance.
Possess a strong working knowledge of several learning development tools and techniques, and delivery modes. Conduct Training needs analysis and recommend learning solution.Work with Subject Matter Experts to define learning outcomes; build training outlines and assist SMEs with building content for live / live virtual delivery.
Work with Commercial Learning and M&T Learning colleagues to create learning items in Workday Learning, create assignment profiles, and ensure learner participation is accurately recorded and reportable.
In some instances, partner with instructional designers to build web-based training or assessments.
Collaborate with Change Leads to ensure communication, change management and training plans are all aligned.Utilize reporting to gauge and manage required training completion by participants. Escalate as necessary.
Be able to select appropriate measurement and evaluation strategies, manage data collection, and interpret data to report to business sponsors and L&D management.
Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
Complete other related duties as assigned.
Scope of Responsibilities:
This position plays a key role in integrating and onboarding new employees to the Bank both through business as usual and acquisition.
Partner with other HR business line colleagues to forecast and support emerging (or future) performance competencies and trends to meet business goals.
Provide counsel on key organizational issues related to development of employees.
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years learning and development or business consulting experience,
OR in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 7 years higher education and/or work experience that includes consulting skills .
Ability to effectively combine instructional design methodology and adult learning principles to implement learning programs that maximize employee development and job performance
Ability to design business product training solutions for various skill levels and line of business needs
Strong spreadsheet, word processing, and presentation application skills
Strong project management skills and the ability to influence a work team of subject matter experts.
Excellent analytical and strategic planning skills
Fluent public speaking skills and presentation experience to highly skilled professionals.
Experience effectively interacting and working with senior management
Ability to speak and write clearly.
Strong negotiation and influence skills
Ability to build productive internal customer relationships
Ability to make decisions independently
Ability to travel up to 10%
Education and Experience Preferred:
Proven success in effectively influencing senior leaders, and collaborating with HR leadership team members
SHRM certification is preferred, but not mandatoryTraining needs analysis certification or related work experience
M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $85,104.04 - $141,840.07 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.Location
