Full-time (100%), Permanent position
Position can be offered at Level C or D:
Academic level C Salary $140,293 - $161,518 + 17% Superannuation
Academic level D Salary $168,593 - $185,573 + 17% Superannuation
Visa sponsorship may be available for this appointment
Based at our St Lucia Campus - Brisbane
Media design and production – including technical skills, creative content development, design thinking, and user engagement
Digital media industries – with a focus on business models, content strategy, analytics, and global digital platforms
Data and society – exploring online communication, media analytics, and critical approaches to digital content
Key responsibilities will include:
Teaching: Develop and deliver courses, engage in curriculum design, coordinate courses, assess students, provide academic counseling, and adhere to university teaching rules.
Research: Establish a research program, collaborate on research projects, seek and manage research funding, publish in reputable journals, utilize best practice research methodologies, and participate in project discussions.
Supervision and Researcher Development: Supervise students, recruit and manage employees, provide performance feedback and training, resolve conflicts, and ensure correct remuneration and benefits.
Citizenship and Service: Develop partnerships, demonstrate leadership through mentoring, engage in internal service roles and committees, perform administrative functions, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values.
Established record of teaching excellence and expertise at undergraduate, honours and postgraduate levels across a variety of settings, including small and large groups with course coordination responsibilities in the discipline.
National recognition for teaching impact in the discipline and/or national research profile with high-quality outputs in the discipline.
Evidence of the involvement in the supervision of honours and Research Higher Degree students (where appropriate) to successful completion in discipline research.
A record of meaningful internal service roles, including the successful mentoring of less experienced staff, in conjunction with evidence of leadership in external activities.
Well-developed communication, interpersonal and consultative skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in teaching and learning.

About This Opportunity
The School of Communication and Arts seeks to appoint an exceptional Teaching-Focused Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor to lead and influence teaching at the program or discipline level. You will collaborate across UQ and beyond to support others and shape teaching practices, policies, and knowledge aligned with UQ values.
