      The School is currently seeking a Senior Lecturer in Nutrition and Dietetics. The incumbent will supervise Master and PhD research projects, conduct an independent program of research, and contribute to teaching in the Master of Nutrition and Dietetics, particularly the units of study related to Medical Nutrition Therapy.

      In this position, you will contribute to fostering a culture of excellence through your own expertise and supporting students towards success. You will maintain and build on your reputation by actively contributing to research and scholarship, academic debate, policy development and innovation within the University and the wider community.

      Your key responsibilities will be to:

      • Make original and innovative contributions to the advancement of research and education within the discipline which are recognised as outstanding, nationally or internationally

      • provide leadership in the development and delivery of teaching programs for undergraduate and postgraduate students in nutrition and medical nutrition therapy

      • liaise with professional stakeholders in the development and sourcing of student placements in a clinical setting

      • supervise Master and PhD research projects and conduct an independent program of research

      • promote a culture that is collaborative, team-oriented, and one that respects the skill sets and opinions of all faculty and staff

      • mentor Level A and B academics.

      About you

      • PhD in medical nutrition therapy in an area such as gastroenterology, oncology, nutrition support, endocrinology, or nephrology

      • extensive experience working in clinical teaching hospitals in medical nutrition therapy

      • demonstrable understanding of medical nutrition knowledge

      • proven acknowledgment at a national level as influential in expanding knowledge within the discipline of dietetics, and in pedagogical or curriculum innovation

      • be an Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD)

      • have an established research profile with original, high-quality and independent research in Nutrition and Dietetics in the field of Medical Nutrition Therapy, as evidenced by competitive research grants, and/or publications and conference presentations

      • have experience in teaching and learning, including demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating teaching and learning initiatives, inclusive of student placements

      • demonstrated pursuit of academic excellence in research of national and/or international significance, with a network of relationships with academic and professional organisations, partners, and stakeholders

      • demonstrated excellence in research and scholarly activities relevant to nutrition and dietetics.

      Please note the incumbent must be registered with Dietitians Australia. Overseas qualified dietitians who wish to work in Australia must complete the skills recognition assessment (DSR) prior to commencing employment or within the first 12 months of commencement.
