- Advise the relevant business partners on various commercial and medical initiatives in a way that advances Novo Nordisk’s strategy while addressing legal risks and protecting Novo Nordisk’s integrity and reputation.
- Provide solutions focussed and pragmatic legal advice on a range of legal issues including contract interpretation, and compliance with law and regulations.
- Review, draft, manage, negotiate high-volume and wide variety of contracts/agreements to assist the business including but not limited to, services, supply, speaker, and advisory board agreements. Monitor/advise of changes to legislation and regulations.
- Act as subject matter expert on matters relating to healthcare law and related business operations and stay abreast of evolving legislation and regulations. Provide practical, solution-oriented legal assistance to internal clients. Assist in the development of legal templates, training materials, and relevant portions of the legal department’s intranet site for the purpose of training and upskilling internal clients. Work with outside counsel and manage external vendors as requested.
- Generate reports, presentations, spreadsheets, memorandums, and any other documents for the Legal and Compliance Department, internal/external clients and/or other senior stakeholders as requested and other duties based on the affiliate priorities and/or Director of Legal, Compliance and Quality.
- A law degree from a reputable Australian university.
- With 10+ years of experience, preferably from a mix of law firms and in-house environments gained from within pharmaceutical, biotechnology or devices industries.
- Experience in counselling pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or device companies on legal and/or compliance issues and drafting, and negotiating various agreements relating to regulatory, market access, scientific exchange, interactions with healthcare professionals, and advertising and promotion.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical laws and other relevant laws and regulations and the ability to interpret and apply such laws and regulations to inform business policies and activities, is desired.
- Must either be an Australian Citizen or have a current residency Visa to live and work in Australia.
