      Join our team as a Senior Legal Counsel with a minimum of three years post-qualification experience in an equivalent or senior role. In this pivotal position, you'll be responsible for delivering top-notch legal advice, transactional services, and comprehensive support to Marella Cruises, acting as a trusted advisor and business partner to key leaders across various departments.

      ABOUT THE ROLE

      • Legal Support: As a Senior Legal Counsel, you'll play a central role in providing legal support to both Marella Cruises and TUI River Cruises, demonstrating a high level of responsibility and autonomy within the cruise teams.
      • Transactional Expertise: You will adeptly handle complex transactional activities, including contract negotiation, assessment of risk, and regulatory compliance, ensuring the protection of our business interests.
      • Strategic Legal Tasks: Your role will involve assisting with legal tasks associated with the acquisition, disposal, and delivery of cruise vessels, contributing to critical decision-making processes.
      • Claims and Litigation Management: You will be at the forefront of managing a diverse spectrum of claims and litigation, ranging from personal injury cases to multi-million-dollar matters. Your responsibilities will encompass handling investigations, assessing liability, and seeking resolutions that align with our insurers' mandates.
      • Stakeholder Engagement: Building strong relationships with stakeholders, including customers, insurers, suppliers, and regulators, will be crucial as you negotiate with sophisticated counterparties and ensure positive outcomes for the business.
      • Insurance and Risk Management: Your role will extend to analysing insurance policies, offering guidance to mitigate legal exposure, and collaborating with Group Insurance at TUI AG to secure the best insurance coverage for passengers, crew, and vessels.

      ABOUT YOU

      • Legal Expertise: You should be a qualified UK solicitor with more than three years of post-qualification experience, capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
      • Work Ethic: As a hardworking, self-motivated team player, you should excel under pressure and manage heavy workloads efficiently.
      • Regulatory Knowledge: A solid understanding of relevant regulations, coupled with the ability to research and interpret complex legal areas, is essential to construct and advocate compelling legal arguments.
      • Efficiency: You must demonstrate a proven ability to manage a demanding workload, deliver high-quality advice and support, and prioritize tasks effectively.
      • Stakeholder Engagement: Confidence in dealing with a diverse array of stakeholders, along with the ability to influence decisions, is paramount. Experience negotiating with in-house counsel of multinational businesses and external counsel is highly desirable.
      • Industry Insight: Familiarity with the travel, cruise, or hospitality industry is a significant advantage.
