- Be a key part of the legal team that supports DX's innovative technology and teams with respect to AI/ML
- Stay on top of legal and industry developments (including emerging regulation, legislation, and litigation) and provide information and guidance to DX on relevant issues, including AI/ML, privacy, and software licensing
- Collaborate with legal colleagues and business partners to deliver practical legal and business solutions for DX while aligning with company policies and procedures to ensure compliance and appropriate risk handling
- Lead in drafting and negotiating strategic business agreements, including complex software licenses, strategic partnerships, technology transfer agreements, and content acquisition agreements
- Anticipate internal client needs to facilitate the creation, streamlining, and continuous improvement of processes, forms, templates, knowledge resources, and training to drive efficiency
- Build positive relationships and advise multiple levels of management and key stakeholders on issues that sit at the intersection of law and technology
- J.D. from an accredited law school and membership in good standing in at least one state bar with a minimum of 12 years of relevant legal experience (e.g., software licensing, cloud-based, or software product development) with at least 5 years of in-house experience preferred
- Deep understanding of legal subject matter areas that are foundational to software and technology development, including intellectual property, contracts, software licensing, open-source development, ethics, and privacy
- A strong understanding of and interest in new and emerging technology areas relevant to the DX business and an affinity for technical subject matter, including digital marketing technologies, artificial intelligence/machine learning, and data science
- Intellectual curiosity coupled with creative problem-solving capabilities, good business instincts, and the ability to provide both practical and theoretical advice legal advice without hesitation when presented with a novel issue
- Highly effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to enable the distillation of complex legal issues into plain English with an understanding that more is not always better
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direction in a fast-paced environment and take initiative in client engagement and go beyond issue spotting to make valuable contributions
- Flexibility to work with colleagues and clients in time zones other than where the position is based and willingness to promote an environment of collaboration and partnership where the whole will be greater than the sum of its parts

The Opportunity
Adobe seeks an energetic, motivated, high-EQ senior attorney to join the Digital Experience (DX) legal team to provide legal advice and guidance related to artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) to Adobe’s product and business teams. In addition to applying sound legal judgment and providing timely written and verbal legal guidance, this role also will have responsibility to draft, analyze, and negotiate agreements and terms with enterprise customers, partners, and vendors. This full-time position will be based in our San Jose, CA or San Francisco, CA office.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
