We are looking for an experienced Legal Counsel or Senior Legal Counsel to join our Legal & Compliance team in one of Wärtsilä major hubs in Finland or Norway.

You will play a key role in supporting our business to conclude high quality contracts and develop business initiatives to achieve industry’s goals for greener and more sustainable future from a legal and contractual perspective.

Your role will include wide and versatile range of legal tasks for designated regions and businesses. You will draft, review and comment documents from legal perspective and support in negotiating international business transactions with emphasis of managing legal and contractual risks. You take responsibility for managing claims and disputes, sometimes with external counsels. You will actively assume role in development of Wärtsilä’s legal practices and their successful implementation.

About you:

• MSc in Law from a university or law school in Europe
• Able to work independently with initiative and good influencing skills
• Excellent collaboration, communication and team working skills
• Effective in problem solving and decision making
• Proactive working style with solution-oriented mindset
• An eye for details combined with big picture understanding
• Ability to read, comment and draft complex agreements
• Adequate amount of experience as an in-house counsel or law firm
• Fluency in English. Other language skills are benefit.
