      The key functions of Corporate Legal (LE) are to provide legal advice to Statkraft’s business areas enabling achievement of commercial goals, to manage legal risk throughout the Group’s activities and ensure that the business areas conduct their activities in accordance with applicable law and consistent with the overall strategies of the Statkraft Group .

      To strengthen our legal team, we are now looking for a Senior Legal Counsel based at our headquarters in Oslo, to support the business activities in Norway.

      Job Description

      Working in Corporate Legal

      Corporate Legal (LE) is responsible for providing legal advice and legal risk management to the whole Statkraft Group, supporting the Statkraft strategy and business activities globally. The department consists of about 70 employees in Norway, Sweden, UK, Ireland, USA, Germany, Netherlands, France, Spain, Italy, Albania, Turkey, India, Brazil, Chile, and Peru.

      The Senior Legal Counsel will report to the Chief Legal Officer and be part of the team Legal Norway.

      As part of this role, you will have the following main responsibilities:

      • Provide Norwegian law analysis and high-quality legal advice related to mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, renewable energy greenfield projects, energy law, company law, contract law, competition/EEA law and other relevant areas of Norwegian law.
      • Drafting, reviewing, and participating in negotiations of contracts.
      • Proactively identify and recommend measures to deal with legal risks related to the matter at hand and legal risks affecting the Statkraft Group as a whole.
      • Manage relationships with external legal counsels.

      Qualifications

      About you:

      Competence and experience:

      • Excellent degree in Norwegian law
      • Strong knowledge of mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, company law and contract law,
      • Knowledge of energy law, competition/EEA law and other relevant areas of Norwegian law is a plus.
      • 6+ years experience in commercial legal work from top tier law firms and/or in-house
      • Substantial business knowledge
      • Experience in managing external consultants
      • High proficiency in written and spoken Norwegian and English is a requirement
