- Liquidity risk measurement, monitoring and management based on the Board approved liquidity risk appetite
- Maintaining and enhancing the Internal Liquidity Adequacy Assessment (ILAAP) process, incorporating international best-practice benchmarking
- Strategic management of liquidity risk to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Assist with the review and update of the ICAAP/ ILAAP and Liquidity Simulation for the African Subsidiaries, London Branch and Nedbank Private Wealth International.
- Assist with liquidity risk management in the foreign entities
- Contribute to ALCO report, Pillar III, GRCMC report, ECC report, GAC report, annual financial statements, etc
- Research international liquidity risk management best practice (research, position papers, impact assessments, international benchmarking, etc.)
- Challenge liquidity risk models, including evaluating the reasonableness of inputs/ assumptions and performing output analysis to test the functionality of the models
- Work directly with business to ensure sound understanding of strategic liquidity risk management and value- adding contribution to enhance proactive liquidity risk management
- Engagement with BASA (Banking Association of South African) and the SARB (South African Reserve Bank) within Nedbank approved channels
- Propose modifications/ enhancements to liquidity risk methodologies, frameworks, limits/ targets, and policies
- Evaluate the appropriateness of intra-day liquidity risk management practices deployed by CFD, ensuring compliance with Group ALCO and regulatory requirements
- Play a key role in building high quality liquidity risk management requirements in the Nedbank ALM system
- Actively contributing to data mining/ sorting and enhancing MI reporting capabilities required to support Basel III, intra-day liquidity risk management and best practice
- Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
- Professional Qualifications/Honour’s Degree
- BSc. Degree, Chartered Accountant CA(SA), Financial Risk Management (FRM).
- 5 or more years’ experience within a risk environment in the banking industry, ideally in a balance sheet management role with liquidity risk management and or ALM modelling exposure.
