We'dlike you to join us as aSenior Management Accountant in our Finance team in Darlington. This role is full time (37.5) and hybrid working - a minimum of 3 days in the office, 2 days at home.

      Main duties of the job

      The Senior Management Accountant will have overall responsibility of the accounting and reporting for their specified division(s) assigned to them. Including the associated balance sheets for those trading entities. The role will report into the Head of Management Accounts, however there will be a close working relationship with the Commercial Finance team for the division.

      Job responsibilities

      What you'll be doing:

      • Prepare accurate financial reports, monthly management accounts, variance analysis and KPI’s for their assigned division(s).
      • Ensure that all Company balance sheets are reconciled, and issues are resolved each month.
      • Review and issue balance sheet audit packs for your specified division to support the year end audit and resolve year end audit queries.
      • Maintaining a continual focus on ensuring that information is presented in the most useful way possible and that any issues identified which would enable management to improve business performance are appropriately reported.
      • Mentor and guide junior finance team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and professional growth.
      • Support in preparing budgets and forecasts for your assigned division, supporting the Commercial Finance team and the wider Group Finance teams.
      • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the team, identifying areas for process efficiencies and accuracy through automation.

      Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:

      • Appropriate Accounting qualification, preferably ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent.
      • Strong financial reporting skills.
      • Advanced Excel skills.
      • Have a keen eye for detail .
      • Organised and structured, ensuring all deadline are met
      • Ability to work as part of a team.
      • Self-motivated.
      • Good communication and interpersonal skills. Team player.
      • Being flexible, innovative, and adaptable at work in order to meet competing priorities.

      Experience:

      • At least 2 years post qualified experience
      • At least 5 years’ experience management accounting role or similar
      • Experience of working in a fast paced and evolving team environment, private equity and / or healthcare an advantage.
