      Position Summary

      The Senior Manager of Business Technology – Finance is accountable for Finance technology platforms and their integration with PG&E’s Enterprise strategies. This position reports to the Director of IT SAP and Corporate Services and overseas IT services that include planning, development, implementation, and support of systems related to Finance.

      In this role you are accountable for Technology programs/projects delivery, including running a multi-year program to drive modernization of PG&E’s technology landscape. You will drive product design and solutions delivery using waterfall & agile methods, collaborating with various business subject matter experts and internal IT peers. You will be the IT liaison to lead business relationships with senior leaders across functional teams.

      The role is hybrid working from your remote office and the Oakland General Office in-person 2-4 days weekly or as business needs require.

      PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.

      A reasonable salary range is:

      Bay Area Minimum: $147,000

      Bay Area Maximum: $251,000

      Or

      California Minimum: $140,000

      California Maximum: $238,000

      Job Responsibilities

      • Accountable for overall portfolio performance and recommends changes in investment mix to achieve goals; uses reporting tools to monitor portfolio activities and regularly brief IT and business leaders on portfolio performance.
      • Drives process standardization and consolidation and is responsible for aligning IT strategy and investment decisions with business units.
      • Reviews and recommends sourcing strategies for projects and works with business units and appropriate IT personnel to ensure the distribution of IT resources and to set priorities based on business goals.
      • Leads the identification, analysis, valuation, and execution of system investments for project delivery and support operations; manages the execution of technology roadmaps.
      • Leads the successful implementation of new/enhanced systems on time, in scope, and within budget.
      • Acts as a liaison and conduit for information flow between the department team and the rest of the IT and business community and with appropriate external collaborators; handles efficient and effective resolution of issues.
      • Achieve results through others by setting and communicating goals and metrics, supervising progress, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, and reinforcing behaviors that drive high performance.
      • Ensures coworkers are meeting department objectives aligned with organization goals. Implements PG&E practices for staffing, EEO, diversity, performance management, development, reward and recognition, and retention.
      • Leads and executes communications plans with multiple levels of business partners.
      • Develops and manages service-level agreements with business partners.
      • Ensures compliance with Standards/regulations and governance processes.
      • Ensures staff has the resources and skills needed to support all projects and barriers are removed.
      • Provides oversight for key vendor relationships.

      Qualifications

      Minimum:

      • Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, engineering, math, or related field or equivalent experience
      • 8 years of experience with SAP Finance, specific to ECC-FICO, FICA, and S/4 Finance across multiple industries or other related areas and/or IT strategy planning

      Desired:

      • Ability to drive process and system transformation to deliver end-to-end Finance solutions. Experience deploying Standard Templates and End to End solutions.
      • Experienced across all project phases, including fit/gap analysis, design, build, testing, training, cutover, and post-go-live support.
      • Demonstrable experience leading/mentoring and coaching teams/cross-border teams.
      • Master’s degree in business administration or job-related field or equivalent experience
      • PMI-Project Management Institute PMP-Project Management Professional certification
      • Experience operating in a global SAP environment, including collaboration with international teams and offshore models, is preferred.
      • Experience leading large global project budgets and timelines.

      Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Competencies:

      IT organization is integral in driving SAP functional product knowledge and experience; therefore, the Sr. Manager of Finance would demonstrate the following skills.

      • Lead mission-critical program and project initiatives in areas of Finance Systems and Integrations. Provide Solution Architecture in SAP Finance – FICO/FICA and S/4 Finance.
      • Extensive SAP FICO functional experience in covering the following areas; General Ledger (FI-GL), Accounts Payable (FI-AP), Accounts Receivable (FI-AR), Bank Accounting (FI-BL), Asset Accounting (FI-AA), Funds Management (FI-FM), Special Purpose Ledger (FI-SL), Cost Element Accounting (CO-OM-CEL), Cost Center Accounting (CO-OM-CCA), Activity-Based-Accounting (CO-OM-ABC), Internal Orders (CO-OM-OPA), Product Cost Controlling (CO-PC), Profitability Analysis (CO-PA), Profit Center & Accounting (EC-PCA), FICA, Contract Accounting and CI, convergent invoicing, SAP Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC), Treasury & Risk Management (TRM).
      • Work with finance organizations to create a compelling and flexible implementation roadmap. Operate as a domain expert for SAP S4 FICO/FICA and other Finance Systems in the portfolio and be a point of contact for integration with upstream and downstream processes such as P2P, supply chain, and work and asset management.
      • Partner with stakeholders to translate business requirements into systems solutions.
      • Lead both PG&E overall and functional area complexities. Ensure alignment to standard design, technical architecture, standards, audit, and change management. Operationalize solutions through hyper-care and transition to support teams. Run projects, including resource allocations, financials/budgets, work plans, issue & risk management, and status reporting.
      • Establish strong governance for decision-making. Create an intelligent data framework. Embed innovation at the heart of the program.
