The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

      Come join Middle Market's journey towards our target portfolio and profitability. In this role, you will directly support two of our segment leaders in Public Entity and Energy, as well as, key leaders in our Middle Market CUO office.

      This is a hybrid position, you will be required to go into the office twice a week if you reside within 50 miles of our Boston, MA office.

      Responsibilities:

      • Participate as key member of the Public Entity and Energy leadership team as the dedicated financial manager
      • Drive a full-year of strategic conversations and transparent financial performance monitoring, enabling the business with strong analytics and insights
      • Coach and develop the dedicated financial analyst(s) aligned with your segments and stakeholders
      • Manage multiple cross-functional Middle Market projects of moderate to high scope and complexity. Specifically in 2024, lead the Middle Market Monitoring workstream to transform our management information reporting data and infrastructure to improve efficiency, transparency, and quality of data available to various personas within the MM operation.
      • Partner with actuarial to support our Middle Market Property and Casualty Underwriting officers with cross-segment line of business analytics and insights
      • Define project scope and prioritize resource commitments.
      • Ensure the department provides quality, cost effective customer service.
      • Develop and use dynamic predictive financial analysis models which identify factors that affect costs and revenues and reasonably predict future outcomes based upon various input variables.
      • Assess external factors and economic impact of financial plans and projections on department operations utilizing net present value techniques.
      • Communicate the financial implications of plans and actions and determine whether they make financial sense based upon analysis performed.
      • Evaluate opportunities for efficiencies and improvements to processes, controls and technology systems.
      • Determine cost/benefit of opportunities and prioritize initiatives.
      • Hire, develop, coach, and make compensation recommendations for, assigned staff.
      • Define individual performance objectives and development plans and ensure alignment with project and unit objectives.

      Qualifications

      • Bachelor`s degree (Finance or Accounting). CPA or advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
      • Minimum of 10 years of finance or analytics experience
      • Must demonstrate ability to execute thoroughly in a fast-paced work environment, adapting quickly to changing conditions to achieve results.
      • Must possess the ability to collaborate with peers across the organization to gain support for ideas and execute on projects that deliver value to customers.
      • Comfortable leading meetings, making strategic recommendations to senior management and giving presentations to increasingly large audiences.
      • Advanced understanding of Finance Tools and Analytical Methods.
