      Job Details:

      Location: Global - Hybrid or Remote

      While it is preferred that the incumbent be based out of Corporate Headquarters in San Diego, CA, or Cubic’s satellite office in Tempe, AZ, candidates in other U.S. and international locations will be considered. For employees based in a Cubic office location, the company follows a 3 days in office, 2 days remote policy. Relocation is not offered for this position.

      • Job Description

      Job Summary: Responsible for developing and implementing external and internal communications strategy for the company’s global Cubic Transportation Systems (CTS) business. Supports the management of CTS’ and the company’s image to internal and external stakeholders using a broad range of communications channels including media pitches, press releases, thought leadership pieces, social media content, blogs, as well as internal communications vehicles such as leadership messages, newsletter and intranet content. Responsible for fostering and developing a positive image of the company to various stakeholders, including media, employees and public at large. Strong writer and storyteller who will lead and execute company external and internal business communications strategy and tactics. Responsible for leading communications initiatives from beginning to end, including assessing scope of work, understanding project goals, developing timelines, and ensuring deadlines are met. Reporting to the Senior Director of Corporate Communications, this position is part of the global Corporate Communications function, supporting the company’s broader communications strategy. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority.

      Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Serves as integral part of Corporate Communications team to create and execute the Cubic Transportation Systems (CTS) public relations and communications strategies and tactics to achieve the highest rate of return, and that support the company’s overall brand and reputation management.
      • Develops and implements measurable and engaging communications strategies that support CTS projects and initiatives. Plans, coordinates and produces external communication activities related to building positive company reputation and brand awareness.
      • Develops CTS brand, program and product messaging for PR and media relations, social and internal communications activities. Materials include, but are not limited to, press releases, FAQs, fact sheets, media statements/quotes and copy for emails, website and social.
      • Sets strategy and direction for CTS’ global public relations agency and manages the scope of the agency’s work and day-to-day priorities and results. Also works closely with regional PR agencies to support top local objectives.
      • Serves as chief editor and copywriter on internal communication initiatives, including executive announcements and executive newsletters, as well as supporting content for engaging employee channels including town hall meetings, podcasts and video scripting.
      • Collaborates with regional Marketing and Business Development colleagues to support communications objectives.
      • Manages and executes on the global CTS crisis communications plan, including all written documentation, communications and coordination with stakeholders.
      • Enforces brand management and the proper use of the brand in both written and visual communications.
      • Supports Corporate Communications’ annual budget for communications efforts, including processes required for establishing vendors and securing payments.

      Minimum Job Requirements:

      Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in journalism, public relations, communication or marketing, plus proven communications experience, preferably in corporate communications or PR/media agency. Exceptional copywriter with ability to write technical, often complex material in a clear understandable manner for news media and internal sources. Direct media experience is desirable. Complete understanding of Associated Press style and format. Ability to produce professional, high-quality news releases that satisfy company and media requirements. Ability to effectively interface with all levels of management to obtain cooperation and information essential to development of media materials. Able to prioritize work, execute and complete multiple tasks, and work under tight, often difficult, deadlines.
