- Working with KM Technology team members to direct the daily operations and management of the firm’s intranet, extranet sites, client-matter sites, other internal knowledge sharing portals and social media platform.
- Review and revise established content governance principles and procedures for the firm’s intranet, extranet and client-matter sites. Direct the implementation, communication, and ongoing adherence to the content governance program.
- Develop a strategy for optimizing search on the infoNet (intranet), extranets and client-matter sites and review established metadata schema and tagging guidelines for site owners to support personalized views of content and to elevate relevant material in search results.
- Review and revise established guidelines for business stakeholders on best practices for site creation, management, enhancements, support and related knowledge management issues. Mentor team members in the implementation of solutions that adhere to those guidelines.
- Provide guidance to team members on content management processes for the creation, implementation, and management of internal, extranet and portal web sites.
- Delegate responsibility for the review of requests for new and redesigned sites, portals and custom solutions and provide approval for final decisions and designs.
- Promote and be a champion of the intranet, client-matter sites, social media and collaboration platforms, and the firm’s experience management system as key business tools and collaborative knowledge sharing vehicles. Work with legal, administrative and other teams to translate strategic requirements into solutions; encourage use of sites and portals to facilitate sharing and dissemination of information; solicit feedback to determine new features and functionality.
- Gather metrics and produce reports for Director of KM Technology and business stakeholders on site and search usage.
- Collaborate with the Director of KM Technology in the development of training programs for the KM technology systems.
- Ability to manage knowledge and information via online databases, collaborative technologies and web-based services.
- Understanding of the principles of knowledge management as a technique to enable the development of robust communities of practice and other KM solutions.
- Knowledge of SharePoint, HighQ, Foundation, enterprise search and Teams.
- Excellent written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills, and ability to interact diplomatically with and influence at all levels of firm personnel.
- Strong leadership, internal client management, and relationship building skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow up and follow through.
- Must demonstrate the ability to maintain strict confidentiality of the firm’s internal and personnel affairs.
- Ability to be a proactive self-starter, who understands the details within a broad context.

- Bachelor’s Degree required. Advanced degree in Information Management, Library Science, Knowledge Management, Communication or related discipline highly desirable.
- 10+ years experience managing web content and collaboration technologies for an intranet or other knowledge-sharing web-based portal.
- 10+ years experience organizing and managing collections of sample documents and other firm intellectual property.
- Demonstrated experience developing and managing taxonomies and metadata to support effective search and navigation of content on intranets, extranets and other portals.
- Solid understanding of SharePoint technologies with 5+ years experience as a SharePoint user.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in a professional services environment, preferably a law firm.
- 10+ years experience managing team of professionals with varying responsibilities.
- Proven track record of establishing and implementing knowledge management processes and tools in similar organizations.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Manager of Knowledge Management Technology is an experienced manager of knowledge and information management who provides direction for the firm’s intranet, extranet, social media and collaboration platforms, experience management, and other knowledge sharing applications. The senior manager oversees a team of knowledge management professionals to ensure that the daily operations, new requests, content governance, management, training, adoption and ongoing support of the firm’s KM technology addresses the needs of the firm’s business support teams and practices.
The Senior Manager of Knowledge Management Technology works closely with the Director of Knowledge Management to develop and implement the strategic direction, roadmap and content strategy for the firm’s KM technology to ensure that the design and functionality support the firm’s business and knowledge management objectives. The Senior Manager works closely with the SharePoint Platform Managers, Applications Development, Finance, Project Services, Enterprise Data Systems and Legal Project Managers, to develop and implement strategies and processes for integrating content into the firm’s KM technology systems and sites.

The anticipated pay range for this role is $151,500 - $236,000, which represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the starting salary range at the time of posting. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data and consideration of internal equity.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This is a hybrid position, required to be in the office Tuesday through Thursday.
Normal office environment; incumbent is expected to work the hours necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
