      What you will do

In this vital role you (Senior Manager – Philanthropy Impact and Operations) drives processes for smooth and efficient operations and optimal stakeholder engagement. The position reports to the Associate Director and Head of Business and Philanthropic Operations.

      The primary role is to manage philanthropy processes in a clear, predictable rhythm and to ensure management of Foundation and Corporate Philanthropy programs remain modern, efficient, and effective for all stakeholders. This role will also help strengthen the philanthropy team’s performance by developing and delivering process improvements and solutions that enhance the team’s progress against its goals.

      Staff Engagement

      • Own ongoing, end-to-end operations processes for Matching Gifts, Dollars For Doers, and Giving Tuesday offerings.

      • Develop and build effective programs around staff volunteerism, then act as owner and subject matter expert to deliver a strong, measurable, fully compliant experience for Amgen staff.

      • Act as philanthropy’s central point of contact with Amgen Employee Resource Groups to develop programs that optimize communications and connection with those groups.

      • Drive targeted, thoughtful communications with internal and external stakeholders. Provide technical assistance to program users as needed, including the development and delivery of training to users.

      • Monitor staff and nonprofit concerns raised to Foundation vendor contact center and address problem areas. Serve as expert on Foundation’s systems supporting staff engagement.

      • Identify and execute on opportunities to update and improve staff engagement programs, including through staff input. Stay informed on emerging trends and recommend updates to our programs where appropriate.

      Grants Management

      • Deliver ongoing efficient, accurate grant operations. Own due diligence and review of grant proposals, including analyses of grant reports and program trends. Manage Foundation’s annual local grants process.

      • Provide clear and concise grant administration policies and procedures for both internal stakeholders and grantees. Drive targeted internal and external communications. Review and manage unsolicited grant requests and letters of inquiry.

      • Manage projects to enhance system capabilities and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

      • Build knowledge of best practices in grantmaking. Stay abreast of philanthropic trends. Engage with peer organizations to gain operational insights.

      Corporate Philanthropy Operations

      • Manage end-to-end process to review and approve Amgen U.S. Non-Healthcare Donations and Sponsorships, working with Amgen stakeholders to deliver an easily understood and fully compliant process.

      • Manage workstream to advance high-profile corporate charitable donations and sponsorships.

      • For both processes, build and advance initiatives that drive efficiency and process improvement. Review and manage unsolicited requests.

      • Own and manage onboarding of payees as Amgen suppliers and Amgen accounts payable requests.

      Amgen Community Program Delivery and Analysis

      • Own ESG and other reporting connected to Foundation’s community programs. Use data to clarify program trends and identify areas for improvement.

      • Collaborate with Foundation program team and Amgen sites to effectively build upon signature initiatives in Amgen communities.

      Basic Qualifications:

      Doctorate degree and 2 years of Corporate Citizenship, Philanthropy/Grantmaking, Employee Giving, and/or Social Impact (the “S” in ESG) experience

      Or

      Master’s degree and 4 years of Corporate Citizenship, Philanthropy/Grantmaking, Employee Giving, and/or Social Impact (the “S” in ESG) experience

      Or

      Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of Corporate Citizenship, Philanthropy/Grantmaking, Employee Giving, and/or Social Impact (the “S” in ESG) experience

      Or

      Associate’s degree and 10 years of Corporate Citizenship, Philanthropy/Grantmaking, Employee Giving, and/or Social Impact (the “S” in ESG) experience

      Or

      High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Corporate Citizenship, Philanthropy/Grantmaking, Employee Giving, and/or Social Impact (the “S” in ESG) experience

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree required, with Master’s degree preferred

      • 6+ years of experience in corporate philanthropy, with demonstrated business operations and data analysis skills.

      • Excellent communication skills to develop internal and external stakeholder networks.

      • Curious, strategic thinker who can work with colleagues across lines of business to meet mutual goals.

      • Excellent project management, organizational skills, and strong attention to detail.

      • Proven ability to build effective, collaborative relationships.

      • Sound judgment, strong decision-making skills, and ability to independently advance defined objectives

      134,365.00 USD - 161,464.00 USD
