      JOB SUMMARY

      Reporting to the Vice President, Cannabis and Liquor, this position is responsible for two key portfolios: Product and Account Management. The Product Portfolio is accountable for all aspects of the Cannabis product assortment as it pertains to category management, including onboarding Licensed Producers (LPs) and making all product assortment decisions. This position will be responsible for all activities involving LPs like business reviews and Top to Top meetings. The Account Management Portfolio oversees all external stakeholder engagement as it pertains to both Licensed Producers and Cannabis’ network of private retail partners and is responsible for growing the number of retailer relationships. This position will drive customer service for retailers and focuses on the ongoing day-to-day management of large retail accounts.

      This position will be the key liaison between external stakeholders and AGLC, and as such will be crucial in recommending and driving policy modernization and strategic/operational changes within AGLC in a collaborative manner with our Regulatory Services team and other internal stakeholders. Additionally, this position has a large element of fiscal responsibility of managing operational budgets and revenue budgets along with budget reforecasting. As a senior member of the Cannabis Leadership Team it is expected that this this position will also provide mentorship and leadership in helping the Cannabis team in career development.

      To be successful in this position you will need to have proven leadership skills with the ability to successfully build, manage and lead a high performing team, with a focus on motivating and guiding staff. This position is customer focused with both internal and external stakeholders, so excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability build strong business relationships and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams across AGLC is essential. You will need to be results-oriented and be able to prioritize multiple responsibilities simultaneously while leading a team from strategy to execution. The ability to translate both stakeholder feedback and AGLC Strategic plans into market tactics will be paramount.

      SKILLS & ABILITIES

      • A university degree in business or a related field and a minimum of 6 years of consumer product merchandising or related similar experience within a regulated business is required; Experience within the Cannabis business is preferred.
      • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills are required.
      • A high degree of financial acumen is required, including experience with operating budgets and forecasting.
      • Experience successfully supporting moving new product from concept to commercialization is necessary.
