      About the workplace

      This is a permanent, full-time role that will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity head office location and your Lower Mainland based home office. Periodically, you’ll be required to attend in-person activities or events.

      As a Senior Manager, Product - Lending, you'll be at the helm of driving revenue growth while delivering innovative banking products and services that meet the evolving needs of members. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys leading cross-functional teams.

      You'll be responsible for extensive collaboration and prioritization with senior leaders, ensuring that strategies are aligned and executed effectively. Your strategic thinking will be crucial in developing and maintaining product roadmaps, overseeing the execution of enterprise-wide priorities, and ensuring the sustained growth of products and services within your portfolio.

      A typical day would involve:

      • Responsible for guiding product managers and leading large cross-functional Product-Owned Delivery (“POD”) teams on enterprise-wide retail lending product development initiatives and removing roadblocks. This role requires a deep understanding of the agile methodology, financial market, retail member’s banking needs, market competition, macroeconomics, regulatory environment, and the product lifecycle.
      • Planning and supporting the development of a prioritized pipeline (roadmap) for the given portfolio, built on stakeholder input and market needs and continuously reviewed and updated.
      • Working with direct report, peers, and leadership to identify strategies to grow and improve the portfolio from various perspectives, including risk appetite, member/business impact, technology and systems requirements, volumes, revenues, and breadth.
      • Establishing, implementing, practicing, and continuously evolving processes and procedures across the Product Management Lifecycle.
      • Collaborating closely with the broader IT Solutions team and the wider organization through the inception, design, development, launch, and improvement of member and staff experiences, ensuring product profitability, member satisfaction, and market fit.
      • Supporting team members in their work, removing roadblocks, and actively involving yourself in the execution of work items to increase velocity across the portfolio.
      • Modeling a growth mindset, empowering direct reports, and supporting them through coaching and ongoing professional development.

      You have:

      • Typically, 10+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in Business or a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
      • Strong knowledge of Retail banking, product delivery infrastructure systems, and underlying product interdependencies.
      • Broad interest in macroeconomics and as it relates to the banking industry and technology trends
      • Proven history of delivering results and high performance
      • In-depth risk management associated with new and existing product development and management.
      • Strong knowledge of process coordination and management.
      • Experience navigating a complex multi-vendor driven technology platform.
      • Understand the principles of agile product management and product pricing analytics.
      • Excellent communication and collaborating skills.
      • Ability to adapt and translate ambiguity to clarity and action.

      Bonus points, if you have:

      • Certification in Product Management or Agile methodology
      • Added bonus if you have a Masters’ Degree in any of the above disciplines

      The salary range for this role is $102,200 to $153,200 annually. Base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
