      Job summary

We are currently looking to recruit a motivated and experienced part time Band 6 Senior Mental Health (MH) Practitioner to join our Ely Older People's Community Mental Health Team. This is a great opportunity to join our effective and friendly team working with a client group with more complex mental health needs.

You will be part of a team comprising Mental Health Practitioners, CPNs, Psychologists, Consultant Psychiatrist and Support Workers, enabling effective coordinated care delivery.

We provide service-user focused, evidence-based interventions for people aged 65 and over living in their own homes/care homes with either functional or organic mental health illness. We provide high quality assessment, treatment, and care coordination which is informed by your professional bodies and National policy.

The post has opportunities to develop skills and knowledge via training, working alongside experienced practitioners and to be involved in service improvement.

You will mainly be covering the city of Ely and the surrounding villages but may also cover other areas of Cambridge as needed, so regular travel is required. Successful applicants will need to have a drivers license and access to a vehicle for work.

The post is based at Princess of Wales Hospital. CPFT supports agile working, with flexibility for work-life balance. Visits to the team are welcome. There is free parking and a caf onsite.

      Main duties of the job

Please note for this role you will be required to travel independently around the county meeting strict time deadlines. You will need to hold a full UK driving licence* and have use of a vehicle. You cannot use public transport for this role as this is not a reliable form of transport and will not allow you to meet service needs. Please confirm in your application that you meet the specified criteria.

You will have the opportunity to manage a caseload of service users, delivering a diverse range of clinical skills delivering therapeutic and recovery-based interventions. We seek to empower service users and carers to actively engage in their recovery journey, working alongside a range of third sector organisations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong team work ethic, sense of accountability, accompanied by an ability to work under pressure at times, and with a desire for innovation. We support agile working for staff, using all appropriate I.T equipment and support

  • About the company

National Health Service (NHS) is the umbrella term for the publicly-funded healthcare systems of the United Kingdom (UK). The founding principles were that services should be comprehensive, universal and free at the point of delivery—a health service based on clinical need, not ability to pay. Each service provides a comprehensive range of health services, free at the point of use for people ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom apart from dental treatment and optical care.
