- Salary starts from $125, 693 + super
- Perform security remediations based on the provided reports. Proactively evaluate security state of the configurations applied to various network devices.
- Perform security risk assessments that support business requirements, recommend and implement mitigations and countermeasures to address risks, vulnerabilities and threats,
- Reduce operational risk and improve availability of the network by ensuring network access, monitoring, control, evaluation and documentation practices are maintained and adhered to agreed standards.
- Develop, maintain and implement operational procedures to adhere to the security policies and ensure operational tasks are performed reliably and consistently to reduce the risk of unplanned outages
- Collect and analyse operational data (traffic analysis, incident and change records) to identify emerging trends and log problem records to assist with security issues and increased network availability.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network security engineering
- Proficiency in network protocols and their practical applications
- Significant knowledge of the firewalls, specifically Palo Alto products
- Proficient knowledge of Cisco networks
- Proficient in understanding security concepts and their practical applications
- Significant understanding of encryption cyphers and TLS versions
- Highly skilled in implementing IPSec tunnels
- Holder of relevant industry certifications
- Driven and passionate problem solver.
- Able and willing to participate in the on-call roster
- Thrives in a collaborative team environment.
- Hands on technical background with the ability to manage 3rd parties.
- Can do attitude when managing conflicting priorities.
- The go to person when managing and understanding operational risks.
Senior Network & Security Engineer
The Enterprise Infrastructure Operations & Cloud team support the functions of network, infrastructure and cloud operations along with other core platforms utilised across the Department of Customer Service. The team supports approximately 24,000 users across on-premises and multi-cloud environments.
This Senior Network and Security Engineer provides daily support and technical insights to the broader business. Responsibilities include managing ServiceNOW tickets, mitigating security vulnerabilities, supporting the project team, integrating new products into the operational environment, and responding to critical incidents on a 24/7 basis.
