      This is a remote position.

      Superlanet is seeking a Senior Network Engineer for our healthcare client in Texas. This is a direct hire, remote position supporting a leading academic medical institution’s complex, enterprise-scale network environment.

      The Senior Network Engineer serves as the technical lead for core networking design, implementation, and operations across hospital and academic environments. This role is responsible for architecting, deploying, and maintaining enterprise-class networking infrastructure to support clinical and enterprise workloads, including Epic EHR and other mission-critical healthcare applications. The Senior Network Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams—cloud, infrastructure, endpoint, and security—and partners closely with peers such as Senior Infrastructure Engineers, Solution Architects, and Cybersecurity Analysts. The position ensures network stability, security, scalability, and high availability across datacenter, campus, cloud, and clinical environments.

      Key Responsibilities

      • Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure supporting both hospital and academic environments.

      • Lead enterprise network architecture initiatives including LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and SD-WAN solutions.

      • Ensure performance, security, and reliability for clinical applications such as Epic EHR and related healthcare systems.

      • Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and cybersecurity teams to align network strategy with enterprise IT goals.

      • Implement and manage firewalls, routers, switches, and network security controls.

      • Troubleshoot complex network performance and connectivity issues, leading root-cause analysis and remediation.

      • Support cloud connectivity (Azure, AWS) and hybrid integrations across datacenter and SaaS environments.

      • Maintain and optimize network monitoring, capacity planning, and performance metrics.

      • Partner with vendors and service providers to ensure service quality, uptime, and contract compliance.

      • Document network architectures, policies, and standard operating procedures.

      • Mentor junior engineers and participate in strategic planning for technology upgrades and modernization.

      Requirements

      Minimum Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

      • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in technical network engineering.

      • Relevant education or experience may be substituted as appropriate.

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Master’s degree in Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

      • 10+ years of progressive experience in network architecture and operations.

      • Prior experience in a healthcare or hospital environment strongly preferred.

      • Certifications:

        • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE).

        • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).

        • AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty.

        • Project Management Professional (PMP).
