- Ability to work in a 24/7 environment. Permanent residency in Australia.
- Tertiary qualifications in information technology, software engineering or telecommunications fields or equivalent relevant experience. Qualifications in data science/analytics will also be considered.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of traditional telecommunications' network – notably Mobile and Consumer Internet networks.
- Experience in Transmission principles, IP Networking, Switching and Radio access.
- Experienced in modern Telco architecture – including Telco over Cloud, SDN, NFV & 5G.
- Detailed understanding of Network Operations, including the business processes and ITIL systems
- Advanced computer skills - with experience in the use of diagnostic software, databases, spreadsheets, and word processing applications.

Your day in the life of a Senior Network Engineer at Optus
Based in Macquarie Park, Sydney (hybrid - 3 days in the office). Optus Networks runs the architecture, planning, design, build, provisioning, assurance and optimisation of the mobile and fixed networks end-to-end.
The Optus Network infrastructure includes National Transmission and Switching, Mobile RAN, Customer Access and IP which provide services to Consumer, Wholesale, Enterprise, and Business markets.
Operations in partnership with its managed service provider delivers service and network monitoring, analysis, restoration and maintenance functions of the Network, covering the full suite of products and services. The functions include real-time, tactical and pro-active network management.
NSET (Network Service & Experiences Team) performs a critical function within operations. Focussed on network service quality & customer experience, the team works at the leading edge of service operations. The team provides pivotal support to the Networks business unit and the wider organisation.
