Generally assisting attorneys in the management and effective handling of a team’s files.
Responding to written discovery, including preparing responses, obtaining and organizing responsive documents, and asserting the appropriate objections.
Reviewing discovery responses and subpoenaed documents and preparing summaries thereof containing valuable analysis.
Drafting various types of motions, including motions to compel, motions to quash, and motions for summary judgment.
Assisting attorneys with trial preparation, including preparing trial documents (i.e., motions in limine, witness and exhibit lists, and jury instructions), gathering and organizing documents and exhibits, and securing witnesses for trial.
Effectively communicating with and serving attorneys, claims professionals, and our valued members.
Drafting of letters, inter-office memos, and other general correspondence as required.
Other duties as required.
Bachelors’ degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
4-6 years Paralegal required
A positive attitude, integrity, pride in one’s work, and respect for others.
Prior experience as a litigation paralegal.
A Paralegal Certificate (preferred).
A working understanding of insurance regulations and the litigation process.
Good analytical skills.
Advanced written communication skills.
Proven legal research skills required
Excellent organizational, writing and communication skills required
Strong attention to detail required
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously required
Ability to handle confidential information and exercise discretion
Excellent interpersonal skills
Advanced knowledge of standard IBM PC applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook required
Proven ability to achieve high service quality results as well as meet productivity levels
Senior ParalegalThe Litigation Paralegal position supports attorneys in the Automobile Club’s Los Angeles Claims-Litigation Department, which defends our valued members in cases arising out of our members’ insurance policies purchased through the Automobile Club.

The starting pay range for this position is:
$32.57 - $43.40Additionally, for full time positions, you will be eligible to participate in our incentive program based upon the achievement of organization, team and personal performance.
