      JOB PURPOSE :

      To serve as a senior consultant at Caterpillar and subject matter expert in a specialized parts and service marketing field or specialty area where decisions and recommendations are made for strategic advantage and contribute to Percent of Parts Sales for Caterpillar branded parts growth.

      JOB RELATED STATISTICS:
      Geographical Responsibility: Global focused
      Primary Interfaces: Parts Product Groups, Corporate Parts & Service Marketing Groups, Regional Parts & Service Marketing Groups, Regional District Offices, Industry Groups, Dealers, and direct customer interface.

      JOB DUTIES:

      This position is a Senior Parts and Services Marketing Consultant in the Product Strategy Team which is part of Service Data Development in the Global Service Division. The individual will be responsible for developing, executing, and maintaining the go-to-market plan for Caterpillar service data that enable services growth. This responsibility entails working with commercial teams and dealers in utilizing applications for service data and creating service options for Caterpillar products.

      The individual must present leadership skills and the ability to sell ideas that are fully developed. Must communicate effectively across product, industry, dealer and/or customer audiences to gain understanding and acceptance of ideas and recommendations. Proven leadership in innovation of new or improved ideas/processes is key to this role, along with the execution to the market.


      Duties may include:
      •Lead teams and training for specific projects and/or purpose
      •Mentor team members within broader Global Service Organization
      •Drive services growth through leveraging quoting services
      •Gathering and providing VOC and VOD to the engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, pricing, and logistics teams
      •Developing, Coordinating and Presenting Training materials to various audiences
      •Works along with senior management in planning major programs and objectives for the Division
      •Drive product repair and service repair options leveraging application for service and creating service options
      •Partner with industry groups to align strategies

      Must have ability to work with people from many different backgrounds and cultures, internally and externally, with the appropriate influence and ability to resolve differences. Good human relations skills are required to develop a collaborative, cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside the business unit. Generally requires travel to understand worldwide business conditions.

      REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
      •College degree or equivalent experience at Caterpillar in aftermarket product support.
      •5-7 years of specific industry, product and/or field experience. Or equivalent experience
      •Candidate must demonstrate Caterpillar’s values of Integrity, Commitment, Excellence and Teamwork
      •Ability to deal with sensitive issues, mentor, and coach, and/or persuade others on new methods of utilizing service data, new technology and distribution methods.
      •Self-starter and team player
      •Strong communication, presentation, and training skills
      •Accomplished in the use of business tools for communicating ideas
      •Previous experience working with Caterpillar dealers

      DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
      •Understanding of standard jobs, component service strategies and machine lifecycle management
      •Cat product family knowledge
      •Working knowledge of Caterpillar Aftermarket and Dealer Network
      •Cat systems knowledge: SIS, SOC, Builder G3, Cat Calculator Web or other service data authoring and quoting tools
      •Experience working with Caterpillar Service data
