      Description

      Job Summary:

      • Develops, maintains, and reviews payroll-related general ledger accounts, assuring that books are correct and in balance.
      • Assembles, creates, and reconciles month-end accounting entries and resolves discrepancies as needed.
      • Performs functions necessary to assist in maintaining accounting related systems.

      Essential Functions:

      • Coordinates accounting activities including completing account entries, analysis, reconciliations, FASB reporting requirements, and ensures compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
      • Communicates and resolves inter-departmental accounting issues. Provides information training/guidance to other departments regarding accounting issues.
      • Makes journal entries and submits check request as part of month end accounting responsibilities.
      • Coordinates set up of new companies and new facilities – including appropriate GL account rollups in SAP.
      • Assist with user support and testing of payroll systems changes/updates that affect GL postings and accounting and the interface to GL.

      Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations:

      • Strong analytical skills
      • Expert accounting knowledge/proficiency
      • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Access and various payroll related systems; SAP knowledge preferred
      • Strong written and verbal communications skills. Appropriately communicates with all levels of customers from assistants to Senior Executives
      • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and follow through to resolve outstanding issues
      • Strong time management skills

      Qualifications

      Education:

      • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred

      License:

      • CPA or individual pursuing CPA preferred

      Experience:

      • 4+ years experience in general ledger research, account reconciliations and/or financial accounting
