      A Day in the Life
      The Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) Senior PCBA Engineer is a member of a cross-functional New Product Development team integral to projects from technology development through product launch. This position will support the design and development of custom circuit board assemblies used in manufacturing assembly and test equipment, and general test equipment electrical design. This position will also support broader activities regarding PCBA test implementation. These activities will contribute to best-in-class quality, manufacturability, testability, and serviceability for Surgical Innovations products.
      Responsibilities Include:
      •Design custom PCBAs for use in automated test systems:
      oInterpret requirements
      oDesign circuits
      oCreate schematics
      oCreate or coordinate board layout
      oInterface with suppliers
      oExecute PCBA fabrication
      •Collaborate on automated test system design, driving best practices for wiring, signal acquisition, hardware selection
      •Work with other senior engineers to support, maintain and expand in-circuit test capabilities
      •Work with other senior engineers to define and create boundary scan test capabilities for printed circuit board assemblies
      •Support board-level functional test design efforts
      •Work as part of a team responsible for the design and implementation of both hardware and software used for product test
      •Contribute to the development of manufacturing test strategy, test methodology, and test platforms for complex Medtronic products
      •Stay abreast of advances in latest technologies related to PCBA test
      •Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned
      Must Have: Minimum Requirements

      • Bachelors degree required
      • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in PCBA test/electrical engineering, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience in PCBA test/electrical engineering

      Nice to Have
      •Proficiency in PCBA development
      •Proficiency in OrCAD
      •Experience in test equipment design
      •Strong electrical engineering fundamentals
      •Medical Device experience, QSR experience, and familiarity with change control processes in a regulated environment
      •Experience with high frequency (RF) energy measurement and transmission
      •Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) practices
      •Experience with National Instruments hardware and other data acquisition IO
      •Experience with common serial communication protocols
      •Demonstrated experience with application of principles of Statistical Process Control (SPC)
      •Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams
      •Strong interpersonal skills
      •Strong written and verbal communication skills
      •Strong attention to detail
      •Demonstrated ability to use all Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio
