      An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced senior pharmacist with a strong interest in and commitment to hospital pharmacy to join the experienced and dedicated Ryde Hospital Pharmacy team.

      Employment Type : Temporary Full Time until 30 May 2025 (with possibility of ongoing employment)
      Position Classification: Pharmacist (Grade 3)
      Remuneration: $2,441.09 - $2,507.14 per week

      Ryde Hospital
      Ryde Hospital is having an incredible $479 million complete hospital redevelopment that will transform the delivery of healthcare for the Ryde local community.

      The Ryde Hospital Redevelopment will result in new health facilities and enhanced services including emergency, ICU/critical care, inpatient units, outpatient/ambulatory care services and much more.

      Construction commenced in early 2023, and will provide you with a wonderful and exciting opportunity to be part of the Ryde team to change the future health services for the Ryde Community completely.


      What you'll be doing

      The Senior Pharmacist reports and liaises with the Pharmacy Manager to ensure the provision of a high quality, safe, person-centred and cost-efficient Pharmacy service. The Senior Pharmacist assists the Pharmacy Manager in providing the clinical and support services of the Pharmacy department as well as co-ordination of training and clinical supervision of staff.

      In performing their duties the Senior Pharmacist will be required to work in accordance with established procedures, and be able to use judgement and discretion about work organisation. The person employed in this position must operate in a manner consistent with Pharmacy department policies, practice standards and legislative requirements.

      This role will require participation in the general roster, including the weekend, public holiday and on-call rosters.

      People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.
      Candidates will need to meet the following criteria :

      1. Current registration as a pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board of Australia (or eligible for immediate registration) with no conditions or restrictions on practice. Evidence of relevant, extensive and recent clinical experience.
      2. Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement activities, research or service evaluation processes.
      3. Identify proficient skills and knowledge in the provision of current clinical hospital pharmacy practice. A strong commitment to an evidence-based service to provide for consumers, carers and families.
      4. Proven ability to work autonomously. With confidence have the ability to prioritise work, manage conflicting demands, monitor individual performance, problem sovle and utilise independent professional judgement.
      5. Experience in clinical teaching and supervision of students, interns, pharmacist, pharmacy support staff and allied health staff. Experience in human resource and personnel management.
