      Job summary

      We are looking for enthusiastic, dynamic and highly motivated Band 3 pharmacy assistant to join our trust bank team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.

      You will be working on wards alongside various clinical teams ward to assist in the delivery of a comprehensive pharmacy service and to provide operational support to the department. If you're eager to expand your technical skills, enhance patient satisfaction, and make a meaningful impact within Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Trust, this is the ideal role for you.

      Main duties of the job

      To assist in the delivery of a comprehensive pharmacy service and to provide operational support to the department. This includes stock control, labelling, assembly, dispensing, and distribution of medicines that underpins our services. You will be working to specific objectives depending on the focus of the service and patient cohort, with the possibility of contributing to the out-of-hours service in the evenings or at weekends.

      Essential

      • GCSE in Maths/English/Science Grade (A-C) or equivalent
      • Completed NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Pharmacy Services

      Desirable

      • BTEC Science/A Level Sciences
      • NVQ/QCF Level 3 in appropriate units

      Previous experience

      Essential

      • Previous experience working in a hospital pharmacy
      • Previous experience working in a community pharmacy

      Desirable

      • Previous experience in stock control
      • Previous experience in supervising junior members of staff

      • Demonstrated ability to work to set procedures/SOPs accurately
