- Subsea pipeline design tasks including;
- routing
- mechanical design
- lateral buckling
- walking
- on-bottom stability
- subsea spools and tie-ins
- Perform analysis, calculations and assessment to support pipeline design
- Ensure design optimization and application of appropriate codes / standards
- Assist in developing cost estimates and material take offs for subsea pipeline projects
- Develop relevant pipeline design reports and drawings and participate in the technical review of design documentation
- Provide technical assistance, coordination and liaise with other disciplines on all aspects covering technical and general requirements
- Degree in Mechanical / Civil / Structural / Ocean Engineering with recent relevant Subsea experience
- 8+ years experience in Subsea engineering
- Conversant with Codes / Standards related to Pipeline engineering and Oil and Gas industry
- Consultancy experience ideal, with an ability to work in multi discipline engineering team for Conceptual studies, FEED and detailed engineering
- Familiarity with Finite Elements Analysis is advantageous
- Demonstrated effective technical report writing and communication skills
- Keen interest in resolving technical ambiguity, trouble shooting and problem resolution
Overview / Responsibilities
Wood has an immediate opening for a Senior Pipeline Engineer to join the team based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. We are looking to engage a talented individual to continue to build their career within the consulting environment and be recognised for their efforts.
Wood is the world's largest provider of subsea engineering solutions and have designed and managed the equivalent of 600,000km of subsea pipelines globally. We have consulted on multiple projects and we employ technical expertise to support ongoing work in subsea pipelines, controls / distribution, structures, risers, umbilicals and flow-lines, in addition to facilities engineering and project administration support. In this role you will join a specialist team focused on delivering solutions for our client’s subsea assets in the APAC region.
Provide pipeline engineering expertise to support ongoing and new project work including but not limited too;
