- Lead complex research and analysis, provide expert policy advice and guidance to other advisors/analysts, and evaluate emerging issues to support LCBO business units, the LCBO’s Board and Senior Management, and the Government of Ontario on matters pertaining to the beverage alcohol marketplace.
- Prepare reports, briefing notes, correspondence, issue notes and presentations on LCBO policies and programs, and delivers presentations to LCBO senior management, the Government of Ontario, and industry associations.
- Build and maintain a network of internal and external stakeholders, keeps abreast of public policy developments and government and corporate issues related to the LCBO, and support the LCBO’s efforts to drive change and advocate for innovative growth.
- Evaluate LCBO policies and programs to ensure strategic objectives are being met and programs are being administered effectively and present compelling business cases to initiate change to improve operational efficiency and enhance the end-user experience.
- University or College Degree, Bachelors or Master’s level, in Public Policy, Public Administration or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in an area involving policy analysis and development
- Advanced knowledge of policy analysis and development techniques
- Strategic planning and problem-solving skills
- Significant understanding of government processes, policy, and operations
- Strong analytical, evaluative, and interpretative skills
- Proven track record of collaboration, with a commitment to deliver the best results
- Solid judgement and discretion in dealing with highly confidential and sensitive issues
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and a track record of performing a range of tasks and issues simultaneously to a positive outcome and on time
- Proven adaptability to work effectively in a variety of situations and with various individuals or groups
- Ability to provide guidance and technical leadership to other advisors/analysts
- Stakeholder consultation experience
- Project management skills to effectively lead complex initiatives and deliver results
- Practical understanding of government processes, policy and operations
- Government or crown corporation experience
- Working knowledge of beverage alcohol industry

Job Posting Description:Senior Policy Advisor
Pay: $64,745 - $113,090
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Policy and Stakeholder Relations, the Senior Policy Advisor leads complex policy initiatives, provides expert policy advice, guides other advisors/analysts, and consults with internal and external stakeholders to support LCBO policy development and the implementation of changes to the beverage alcohol marketplace in Ontario. This includes reviewing and evaluating government and trade proposals to assess impacts to LCBO policies and programs and working collaboratively with stakeholders to address any concerns.
