Job Type & Duration: Full-time, 3 Temporary (12 month) vacancies - Salary: $112,000.00-$144,200.00, Wage Grade 7.5
- Shift Information: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week

- Implements detailed plans and recommends policies/procedures regarding program specific requirements.
- Manages the design, development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of corporate-wide policy, standards and guidelines related to open data, data governance, and other technology-related matters.
- Ensures compliance or alignment with applicable legislation such as privacy laws and with general information and technology "best practices", industry trends and strategies in knowledge and information management through the appropriate research, analysis and development of policies, standards and procedures.
- Manages the day to day operation of all assigned staff on a project basis. Supervises, motivates and trains assigned staff, ensuring effective teamwork, high standards of work quality and organizational performance, continuous learning and encourages innovation in others.
- Provides input into and administers assigned budget, ensuring that expenditures are controlled and maintained within approved budget limitations.
- Conducts best practice research on topical information and technology trends.
- Provides professional consulting and advisory services to the City's business divisions and other Technology work groups, as well as high-risk, high-visibility e-City projects.
- Provides advice on complex and possible controversial positions to senior management and Council through the development of papers, briefing notes and staff reports.
- Facilitates and negotiates agreement between and among various parties and stakeholders to achieve common goals for delivery of service, policy or processes across the organization.
- Manages the relationship with internal and external stakeholders in order to benchmark the City's technology and data policies and practices against external organizations, as well as to achieve internal consensus where needed.
- Extensive experience in qualitative/quantitative research, policy development, analysis, interpretation of data and awareness of relevant legislation.
- Extensive experience leading and delivering complex projects related to planning, policy and research studies in sectors including technology and data.
- Experience in the evaluation of long-term implications of potential policy options, and in the preparation and drafting of reports, summaries, and presentations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
- Exceptionally strong and well-developed writing skills. Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and team-building skills to minimize disputes.
- Sound decision-making skills to appropriately recommend to management, options and next steps in various program or project policy and research needs.
- Excellent relationship management, conflict resolution and consulting skills paired with a customer service focus.
- Ability to work overtime as required and complete assignments in a timely manner.
