- Master’s degree in Public Health or related discipline
- 5 to 7 years of relevant leadership experience and providing strategic, evidence-based decision support with progressive accountabilities for standards development, evaluation, and implementation, advising on healthy public policy, and adoption of best practices for public health. Demonstrated knowledge of public health system
- Excellent leadership, organizational and decision skills.
- Experience in leading complex change.
- Expertise in healthy public policy processes, public health sciences, healthy equity, health promotion practice and non-communicable disease prevention.
- Evidence-based collaborative problem solving of complex multifaceted issues.
- Strong presentation and public speaking skills that are responsive to audience needs
- Competency in evidence-based practice and critical appraisal
- Strong analysis and synthesis skills to inform strategy development and organizational planning
- Expertise in financial planning and monitoring
- Demonstrated expertise in project management and knowledge of issue tracking, issue management and escalation.
- Knowledge of quality improvement methodologies and approaches
- Experience in development standards, protocols, and guidelines to support Public Health, Healthy Communities Program and workforce development plans and strategies
- Experience in using evidence-based decision making to support workforce planning and development
- Ability to analyze and interpret, monitor, and report on quantitative and qualitative data
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager, Healthy Communities (Science and System Performance) the Senior Policy Analyst provides leadership in the areas of policy development, planning and accountability, provincial standards, best and promising practices, and evidence-based decision making. The Senior Policy Analyst holds content expertise in healthy public policy processes, public health sciences and the implementation of Healthy Communities Standards and protocols.
The Senior Policy Analyst provides strategic analysis and advice on issues impacting healthy communities and population health outcomes to support Science and System performance, Healthy Communities, and public health leadership. The Senior Policy Analyst leads work teams and manages projects to advance provincial Healthy Communities priority areas and assists in developing a strategic provincial Healthy Communities plan that is supported by provincial evaluations, human resource and financial planning, monitoring systems and continuous quality improvement mechanisms

Compensation and Incentives
$35.27 - $44.09 Hourly
