      JOB SUMMARY
      We are looking for academic research experience for investigator-initiated observational and registry studies. This new position will primarily support a team of clinician-investigators in the Division of General Internal Medicine comprising the Cancer Care Delivery Research Collaborative to conduct large, data-intensive, health services research. Prominent research themes include cancer care delivery, financing care for the uninsured, and improving the quality of care. Candidates must be proficient at analytical reading, scientific writing, understanding of observational research study designs. Candidates with an interest in qualitative research (patient and clinician interviews), and fluency in medical Spanish also strongly encouraged to apply. Interest in or experience with basic data analysis using statistical packages (SAS, STATA, R, Python) is also strongly desirable.

      EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
      Required

      • Education
        Master's Degree In related field or
        Bachelor's Degree and

      • Experience
        1 year Research experience in behavioral, social science or public health with Master's Degree or
        3 years Research experience in behavioral, social science or public health with Bachelor's Degree

      Preferred

      • Education
        Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish


      JOB DUTIES

      • Recruit and screen participant for multiple research projects; recruitment may take place on or off campus or via telephone.
      • Schedule appointments, obtain consent forms, explain study to participant and collect data.
      • Interview participants for assigned research projects; interviews may be in person, in clinical setting, subject's residence or by telephone.
      • Travel to recruitment sites as needed.
      • Records research data, discuss results with supervisor; maintain required record-keeping per University and funding agency requirements; compiles data and produce reports to be used for analysis of research findings.
      • Assist in the development of posters, tables and figures
      • Perform medical records abstractions, data coding and data entry.
      • Train research staff in interviewing and recruitment techniques as well as other routine tasks such as abstractions, data coding and data entry.
      • Peform literature searches, document results and discuss results with supervisor for necessary project information.
      • Develop study protocols.
      • Performs other duties as assigned.
