  We're looking for a Senior Principal Software Engineer within the Australian or New Zealand time zones. You'll be part of our growing Jira Software team, driving the front-end technical evolution of Atlassian’s leading product. You'll play a force-multiplier role, steering the engineering strategy, defining and applying sound development principles that will enable both our products and teams to scale effectively.

  You will also work closely with Product Management, Design, and Engineering Leadership to help inform product and platform strategy, and will report directly to the Head of Engineering.

  
  

  On your first day, we'll expect you to:

  • Work closely with product and engineering management to define the technical strategy and roadmap.
  • Apply your deep front-end engineering expertise to overcome our most challenging engineering problems.
  • Partner with technical teams across Atlassian, solving architectural challenges for company-wide initiatives.
  • Provide the product management teams with valuable insights into developer experience and contribute towards feature brainstorming.
  • Keep on top of industry trends to better inform our approach and ensure our architecture continues to delight developers.
  • Support and influence principal engineers and architects with technical mentorship and growth.
  • Encourage teams to drive innovation, unlock chances to create impactful technology for our developers and customers
