- Developing and issuing request for proposals and other tendering documents
- Planning and overseeing the settlement of contract terms and the finalization of awards
- Developing complex business contracts by applying contract law
- Conducting detailed analysis of competitive solicitations
- Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance
- Serving as a resource on specific issues to a group of specialists
- Leading seminars and/or workshops
- Bachelor's Degree plus Professional Designation or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum seven years relevantpublic procurement experience, with at least 4 years leading competitive procurement in the Ontario Broader Public Sector
- Demonstrated experience leading open competitive procurement
- Experience in contract analysis, review, administrationand negotiation
- Experience with computerized purchasing, eProcurement, materials management and financial systems (SAP)
- Experience dealing with various levels in the organization
- Ability to interpret complex concepts, legislation and communicate these to a variety of stakeholders
- Strong ability to identify critical issues and problem solve independently
- Advanced computer skills: Microsoft Office: Excel (advanced formula & functions, pivottables), Word, PowerPoint
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organization and time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to exercise sound judgement, tact and initiative
- Ability to work well with others and independently
- Confidentiality is mandatory
- SAP experience is an asset

Your opportunity:
As a Senior Procurement Officer (1 Year Term), you will be part of a team of Procurement experts under Budget, Planning and Finance and will provide the U of T Mississauga community with assistance and information on all Procurement Programs. You will bring a strong understanding of public procurement principles and be able to apply them to various procurement projects across the campus. You will also possess superior verbal and written communication skills and a high level of professionalism. The U of T Mississauga community will rely on your guidance in all things Procurement.
