- You're on top of the news. All the time
- Work with the EP to put together rundowns that cover the big stories of the day
- Identify the right angles for reporter hits and guest segments
- Help ensure all script and video elements adhere to the highest editorial standards and are accurate
- Be in the control room during the show
- Pitch BIG ideas to up the game in production and quality of the program
- Enhance the scripts of your producers using your high-quality writing experience, this includes the show open, anchor intros, segments, and teases
- Collaborate closely with reporters, anchors and partners across the network
- Fill in for the Executive Producer as needed
- Excellent editorial judgment
- 6+ years of your working life has been spent doing a job that resembles this one – with ideally 2+ of those years as a prior manager, being in and around a control room
- Demonstrated history of producing high-quality news programs
- Excellent control room skills; calm under pressure, clear communicator
- Ability to work fast and effectively, especially when news is breaking and time to air is getting short
- Demonstrated track record as a great collaborator who not only works well on a team but can help lead it
- When the news cycle calls you answer, when breaking news happens you are there
- You can fill in as EP when necessary
- Must be willing to work in New York, NY at 30 Rock Monday-Friday
- Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.

Job Description
NBC News NOW is seeking a skilled Senior Producer to become part of the NBC News Daily team, which broadcasts live in the afternoon on streaming platforms and NBC affiliates. The ideal candidate should possess excellent mentoring skills and be prepared to take the lead in guiding a team of producers, associate producers, and production assistants. If you are a skilled leader both inside and outside the control room, we would love to hear from you.
