      Our Mission

Legacybox helps families reconnect with the most meaningful moments of their lives by digitizing and preserving their recorded memories. Every photo, film reel, and tape we process is a piece of someone’s personal history, a link between generations. We make these memories accessible and shareable for the future, while giving our customers peace of mind that their stories will endure.

      About the Role

As Senior Product Designer, you’ll be both architect and craftsperson, leading the creation of the Legacybox Design System while also applying it directly to design our consumer-facing web and mobile apps. As the first in-house designer on the product team led by Vimeo’s co-founder and original designer, you’ll help set the foundation for how design operates at Legacybox, working closely with Marketing and Engineering to ship experiences that are cohesive, performant, and full of emotional resonance.

Your work will shape how millions of families see, hear, and relive their memories through beautifully designed interfaces that feel timeless and human. You’ll define our interaction patterns, design language, and component library, then bring them to life in real features and flows, from onboarding to media playback to sharing.

      Responsibilities

      Design Leadership & Systems Thinking

      • Build and maintain the Legacybox Design System, defining components, patterns, and guidelines that ensure consistency and delight.
      • Establish principles for motion, typography, color, and tone that reflect the warmth and trust of our brand.
      • Partner with Engineering to align Figma libraries with code implementations and ensure fidelity between design and production.
      • Document design decisions clearly and set up contribution workflows for designers and developers.
      • Mentor peers and promote a high standard of design quality across the product organization.

      Product Design & Experience

      • Lead the design of consumer-facing features that help customers browse, relive, and share their digitized photos, videos, and audio recordings.
      • Produce intuitive, polished interfaces, from onboarding to playback to sharing.
      • Create and maintain responsive, accessible Figma prototypes for web and mobile.
      • Advocate for experiences that spark engagement and discovery, not just functional utility.

      Collaboration & Impact

      • Partner across teams to unify the app experience with marketing, packaging, and customer communications.
      • Conduct or contribute to user testing, motion studies, and experience reviews to refine how memories are presented and shared.
      • Stay current on design trends in consumer media, photo/video viewing, storytelling, and digital preservation.
      • Bring creative energy and optimism to a product that means something deeply personal to our users.

      What Success Looks Like

      • A scalable, elegant design system that accelerates product delivery and ensures visual harmony.
      • Consistent experiences across mobile, web, and future connected devices.
      • Measurable increases in customer satisfaction and engagement within the app.
      • Colleagues are able to build with clarity, speed, and confidence.

      About You

You’re a designer who blends craft and empathy, with a passion for creating experiences that move people. You understand that great design is not just functional, it’s emotional. You thrive on bringing structure to complexity, and you’re excited by the challenge of designing for media, memory, and storytelling.

      • 5+ years of experience designing consumer-facing apps with rich visual and interactive elements.
      • Proven expertise in building or maintaining design systems in Figma.
      • Strong foundation in interaction design, accessibility, and visual design principles.
      • Familiarity with front-end frameworks (React, Tailwind, or similar) and component-driven development.
      • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and drive alignment.
      • Deep appreciation for photography, video, and audio as storytelling media.

      Extra Credit

      • Experience designing gallery, player, or timeline interfaces for photo/video/audio content.
      • Experience with media platforms, streaming, or storytelling tools.
      • Personal interest in family history, analog media, or digital archiving.

      Benefits

      • Full-time, remote-friendly role.
      • Apple hardware and all necessary design tools.
      • Competitive pay based on experience.
      • Medical, dental, vision, HSA, and short-term disability (30-day waiting period).
      • Free 24/7 medical care via TextCare (no waiting period).
      • 401(k) eligibility with employer match (6-month waiting period).
      • Competitive vacation policy

      Work Environment

We embrace a flexible approach to work. Many of our team members are fully remote, and we value results, communication, and craftsmanship above location. We also take great pride in our hometown of Chattanooga and our multiple facilities there: our downtown office and our digitization facility, where thousands of family memories are carefully handled and converted every day. Whether working from home or visiting in person, you’ll be part of a team deeply rooted to a sense of place, and committed to quality and care. You’re always welcome in Chattanooga.

      Why Join Us

Legacybox is at an exciting inflection point, transforming from a one-time digitization service into a lifelong platform for preserving and sharing family stories. As our Senior Product Designer, you’ll help define how memories come alive again for millions of families, designing experiences that are not only easy to use, but truly joyful to relive.
