Create an effective toolset to drive target costing based on market needs and margin expectations
Organize & Lead D4V events through cross functional brainstorming utilizing an effective toolset & techniques
Collaborate with the DFO team to define a pathway to success keeping in mind best practices and standardization to minimize burden on the OU/GOSC teams
Engage with external suppliers that can support & contribute to D4V success
Create a D4V roadmap that is aligned with Strategy & Vision
Utilize strong networking and influencing skills to align stakeholders on D4V
May travel up to 20%
People Management experience
Advanced Degree
PMP Certification
DRM Black Belt
Experience leading projects/programs including financial accountability
Experience working with suppliers and/or contract manufacturers
Financial management skills
Experience leading cross functional teams
Medical Device industry experience
Demonstrated strong business acumen and planning experience
Strong communication skills (written, verbal, listening (with all levels of the organization)
Strong problem-solving skills
Comfortable to work with unknowns and developing roadmaps
Ability to influence business leaders, stakeholders and individual contributors
MS Project software experience

A Day in the Life
Medtronic will implement a program called Design for Value (D4V) which will bring stronger management of gross margin to new product development (NPD) by focusing on product cost, or LBM (Labor, Burden, Material). It is essential that the D4V methods and tactics be utilized early in the NPD lifecycle to set LBM expectations and influence the NPD program scope and plan.
The Design for Value (D4V) Leader is a member of the wider Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) team supporting Strategy and Technology. This leader is responsible for formalizing & socializing D4V strategy across Medtronic. You will drive change through D4V Events, working closely with all OU teams in Medtronic and to influence R&D efforts with key tools and practices that deliver a high quality, innovative product with the best possible margin and the right product cost to Make a Fair Profit. You will be at the forefront of Medtronic’s Mission to Alleviate Pain, Restore Health, and Extend Life by improving our capability to deliver life-saving products and support new product innovation.
This role can be based at any Medtronic location within North AmericaMust Haves
Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of Business Process, Engineering Program Management and/or Project Management experience OR advanced degree and 5+ years of experience

Medtronic offers a competitive Salary and flexible Benefits Package
Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$170,400.00 - $255,600.00 This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
