  Our team is x15 Core – a combination of experts across marketing, design, delivery, product, technology, security, and risk management. We are start-up, we are corporate – and we are the ‘space between’.

  Collectively, we provide a powerful platform that enables our ventures to move at start-up pace, whilst staying safe - so that they can scale into material businesses by leveraging the assets of CommBank.

  We are genuinely excited about this platform – its greenfields, its built on modern cloud technology, and it has the smarts to enable our engineers to work autonomously, whilst seamlessly managing their risks. But we are on the start of this bold journey. We need our product team to drive this vision – and this role will be crucial in helping us get there.

  The role

  You will own the product vision, planning and execution of our core technology and risk platform.

  You will bridge the gap between business strategy, ‘customer’ value, complex technology concepts, and deep risk management expertise – to ensure our teams are working towards a common purpose. Working with engineers, designers and risk professionals, you will help prioritise and execute on areas that drive the greatest value for our various customers (including our ventures and various CommBank stakeholders).

  Building strong relationships is essential to the success of this role. You will influence senior stakeholders across CommBank and our venture portfolio to buy-in to this vision. And no doubt learns a lot doing it!

  This role will be reporting to the Chief Product Officer of x15.

  Your responsibilities:

  Own the product vision and drive the product roadmap:

  • Develop and articulate the vision of our core technology and risk platform, and how it will drive x15’s business strategy and differentiate our model in the market (considering alternative solutions, unique value drivers and key execution risks)

  • Develop and execute a clear and value-driven product roadmap, championing the ‘voice-of-customer’ and embedding a customer-led and iterative approach to product design

  • Lead capacity planning and backlog prioritisation of this platform through effectively balancing the needs of stakeholders, and delivery feasibility / cost

  • Assist in breaking down high-level requirements into actionable user stories with clear acceptance criteria, ensuring that the development team understands what needs to be built

  • Be an influential evangelist for this platform across x15 and CommBank more broadly

  Your experience & knowledge

  Technical Experience

  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a Product Owner or similar role, preferably in an enterprise software development environment

  • Experience with Agile tools, such as JIRA or Trello, and familiarity with Agile frameworks like Scrum or Kanban

  • Experience in enterprise risk management (especially in managing technology and security risks) is highly desirable

  • Relevant certifications, such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) are highly desirable.

  • Experience with cloud native and development of SaaS software is highly desirable.

  • Passion for technology: enthusiasm for emerging technologies, software development processes, and the ability to stay updated with the latest industry trends

  Non-technical Skills

  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to span both technical and business stakeholders

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions

  • Experience with driving change, ideally relating to coordinating the implementation of solutions to issues across broad, complex areas

  • Detail-oriented mindset, with a focus on delivering high-quality products that meet user expectations

  • Proven ability to identity and resolve problems effectively, displaying a proactive and solution-oriented mindset

  • Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects/streams at the same time
