Requires experience in Project Management tools and processes, and ability to: facilitate projects, lead critical meetings, develop / validate network diagrams, lead integration and compression sessions.
Overseeing project processes and procedures; monitoring the productivity and performance of the project team.
Managing all aspects of the project portfolio. Setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring and summarizing progress of projects.
Reviewing and ensuring adherence to project materials, deliverables methodologies and procedures.
Preparing and presenting program level reporting for upper management.
Designing, establishing and monitoring the organization's project management goals.
Collaborating with internal and external team members, using a disciplined project management approach, and coaching them on their project-related roles and responsibilities.
Evaluates risks and vulnerabilities and creates contingency plans.
Advises others on preferred tools, techniques and methods for estimating program cost and time.
Conducts regular and ad-hoc program reviews with project team and clients.
Coaches’ others in maintaining open communication among project managers and interested parties.
Plans, estimates, staffs, organizes and monitors a set of projects within a program.
Brings projects to closure and ensures capture of what can be learned from the experience.
Employs appropriate techniques for maintaining team enthusiasm, energy, and focus.
Ensures that team members are on board, unified, and moving in the same direction.
Communicates both within the team and to stakeholders.
Learns and utilizes special talents and work styles of team members.
Develops basic persuasive arguments.
Uses active listening skills and probing techniques to surface opportunities to influence.
Identifies who the decision makers are and how they receive information.
Regularly presents ideas or suggestions to associates in persuasive terms.
This position is located in Griffin, GA or Alpharetta, GA.
This position may require up to 25% travel, primarily domestic.

Job Summary:
Electric Power Division (EPD) has an opening for a Senior Program Manager (Project Management) on our Large Electric Power team located in Griffin, GA or Alpharetta, GA. In this role, the Senior Program Manager will manage a portfolio of high visibility programs and projects for key end customers and dealers and be responsible for end-to-end project planning and successful project execution.

Degree Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience desired.
Program Management: Knowledge of the policies and techniques to manage a set of related projects within a program; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control the set of projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve program objectives.

Team Management: Knowledge of effective team building techniques; ability to form and manage effective teams.

Summary Pay Range:
$144,960.00 - $217,320.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
