- Play a critical role in making Waymo’s AV maps as useful as possible by creating software, processes, and metrics that augment the representation of the world with incredibly useful information that lets onboard and offboard models and teams talk to one another
- Lead concurrent mapping initiatives with significant cross-functional dependencies that directly enable Waymo’s ambitious expansion plans.
- Apply technical acumen to identify workflow challenges, propose opportunities for improvement, and influence mapping technical roadmaps.
- Leverage qualitative and quantitative data to guide high impact mapping tooling and policy decisions.
- Align and gain buy-in from diverse product and engineering stakeholders on critical initiatives through effective communication and influence.
- Bachelor's Degree in technical or business discipline
- Overall 6+ years of work experience working in program management, product operations, or consulting in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong technical/analytical skills that enable you to work credibly with highly technical engineering teams
- Ability to dive into technical details while maintaining strategic perspective on business outcomes
- Proven collaboration and communications skills working with globally distributed teams and multiple stakeholders
- Experience leading successful operational transformations (Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus!)
- Experience working with and/or managing vendor teams
- Proven ability to help scale team output >10x
- Familiarity with SQL scripts
- Ability to travel to the India as needed (once every 2 or 3 years)

As the Mapping Operations team scales, the demand for exceptional mapping program management also increases. We need smart, motivated program managers who can drive operational excellence across multiple initiatives. They will need to closely coordinate between various stakeholders, mainly product and engineering, to ensure that the team is prioritizing the right work at the right time to hit our goals. This role will play a critical part ensuring we continue to build and maintain high quality map in a cost efficient manner and will require the person to wear many different hats and focus on various mapping verticals as needs on the team evolve.

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Waymo employees are also eligible to participate in Waymo’s discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and generous Company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.
