- Manages the company-wide FAA aircraft Weight and Balance Program for HA passenger and freighter operations
- Utilizes Airbus and Boeing manuals, FAA approved airplane flight manuals, and other source materials to create Aircraft Weight and Balance reports and data
- Maintains aircraft operating databases in the HA Weight Balance and Load Planning Systems to ensure data accuracy and integrity
- Acts as the subject matter expert for Load Planning and the load planning systems to support key users and act as the liaison between the load planners and system vendors
- Responsible for monitoring the performance of AO load planners and the actual performance of the aircraft through aircraft records, statistics, and/or periodic flight observations to ensure compliance with established policies
- Authors the Weight and Balance Manual and consults with flight standards, Airport Operations, and other departments to develop and improve operational policies, procedures, and systems policies to ensure the highest level of safety for our passenger and freighter operations
- Provide Weight and Balance and Performance Engineering expertise to support initiatives that improve the efficiency of the operation, such as the Fuel Conservation Program
- Periodic project work and studies to support operations analysis demands on various topics
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in aeronautical engineering, physics, aeronautical systems engineering, aircraft design, aircraft structural engineering, or equivalent field
- 5 years experience in ramp operations, flight operations, engineering, or related experience
- Specific experience in performance engineering, load planning, operations control, or flight dispatch
- Experience in program, project, or initiatives management
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Must be able and willing to work weekends, holidays, and unusual hours as necessary
- Pilot License and/or Dispatcher's License
- Experience participating in pilot and dispatch training related to operations engineering subjects
- Familiarity with statistical methods, models, and simulations to better understand and improve operations and aircraft performance
- Experience and training in using load planning, flight ops engineering, and performance software programs
- Experience coaching and mentoring others

Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Flight Operations Engineering, the Senior Program Manager of Weight and Balance is an engineering position that will manage the company-wide FAA aircraft weight and balance program, which is essential to the safety of our passenger and freighter operations.
