- Registered PPM Professional - PRINCE2 and Managing Successful Programmes, or demonstrable practical experience.

Job summary
THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT FOR 10 MONTHS DUE TO FUNDING.

The National Strategic Clinical Network for Cancer is an exciting strategic organisation to work for, that drives the collaboration of Health Boards, Trusts, professional and charitable organisations and aims to improve the experience and quality of services for people who are diagnosed with cancer. To deliver on our aim, our work programmes focus on early detection, diagnosis, treatment and care pathways.
Do you have project management experience and excellent communication skills to drive and deliver an innovative project to improve cancer outcomes in Wales?
The Senior Project Manager will provide co-ordination and leadership to facilitate the delivery of project objectives. The successful candidate should have excellent communication skills, the ability to collect and analyse information from numerous sources and proven experience of implementing successful projects through a multi-disciplinary, multi-organisational and cross boundary approach.
Main duties of the job
The following duties will be discharged working closely with the Cancer Network Manager and project stakeholders.
To identify and understand the needs of stakeholders, including the national networks, programmes and agencies, and provide sound judgement and diplomatic skills.
To establish effective reporting and review mechanisms to ensure projects delivery tangible improvements in cancer services for the population of Wales.
To be responsible for the overall progress of the project and use of resources, initiating corrective action where appropriate.
To ensure key stakeholders are informed of progress through the preparation of programme reports.
To manage the project risks and develop contingency plans as and when necessary.
To manage and administrate support staff aligned to the programme.
To provide verbal and written reports as requested by NHS Executive, Cancer Network, Welsh Government, Cancer Network Board and other programmes.
