If you are a Project Management professional looking for an opportunity for career growth Emerson is seeking a Senior Project Manager in Houston, TX to lead the implementation of software applications for our customers in the Energy and Transportation (ETS) business.
In this critical role, you will work on ground breaking technology for oil and gas industry clients, leading all aspects of projects requiring considerable resources, from initial planning to successful implementation, ensuring that projects meet their goals and metrics, are delivered with quality, and meet/exceed customers' expectations.
IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:
• Leading successful software implementation projects from development of project plans through successful delivery to the client.
• Establish credibility at all levels within the client and build problem-solving partnerships with clients and colleagues.
• Enhance the organization by sharing your knowledge and experience with other team members.
• Communicate effectively at all levels of the organization: to collaborators, teams, clients and others.
• Organize and manage project artifacts so other team members can use them.
• Build the future of Emerson by sharing experience and expertise with new team members through formal and informal channels.
• Participate in and contribute to the Emerson Project Management Organization (PMO)
• Help improve our project management practice through process improvement, lessons learned, and project feedback.
• Look for continuous improvement opportunities for yourself and Emerson.

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:
• Bachelor's degree in STEM or related field from an accredited university.
• 8+ years of Project Management experience focusing on implementing software solutions for the oil and gas industry (upstream/midstream/transportation/terminals)
• Solid track record of successful project delivery (demonstrable).
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and frameworks such as Waterfall and Agile.
• Excellent leadership and the ability to effectively manage cross-functional/geographically dispersed teams and collaborators.
• Ability to lead multiple projects with conflicting priorities and make progress in the face of ambiguity.
• Exceptional client relationship skills and demonstrated networking ability.
• Demonstrated experience with project management tools (i.e., MS Project, Smartsheet, or Jira).
• Must be willing and able to travel up to 25%.
• Legal Authorization to work in the United States – sponsorship will not be provided for this role
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:
• PMP, ACP, SM, DA, or related certification highly desirable.
• Knowledge of the oil and gas industry operations and business models.
• Process improvement, engineering, or business analysis expertise.
• Familiarity with Operational Technologies (SCADA, DCS).
• Familiarity with cloud implementation, cybersecurity, CI/CD, and DevOps.
• Exposure to presales for software application implementations.
• Exposure to working with external customers.
• Strong conceptual and analytical critical thinking.
• Commitment to self-improvement – strong drive to learn/keep updated with industry trends.
• Takes an interest in developing others, generous with time, knowledge, and experience.Flexible Work Schedule – Hybrid Work Option
