At RBC we are searching for a dynamic Senior Project Manager to join our team. You will be at the forefront of the strategic initiatives that will shape Banking's future.

      As a representative of the Value Office, you will be a member of the largest Project Management Office in RBC and part of a collaborative team that is a catalyst for delivering transformation initiatives, accelerating value creation, and infusing Agile ways of working that drive continuous improvement. You will work with a diverse set of stakeholders and senior leaders and will be at the forefront of strategy execution with teams that deliver some of RBC’s most important strategic initiatives.

      As a Senior Program Manager, you will drive RBC’s most complex initiatives, aligning them with platform goals and strategic priorities. You will develop program roadmaps, coordinate cross-functional teams, and engage stakeholders to define scope, prioritize tasks, and ensure clear communication. Your role includes implementing risk management strategies, fostering proactive problem-solving, and advancing business agility through continuous improvement. You will also analyze performance metrics and apply lessons learned to optimize future planning and value delivery.

      What will you do?

      • Leadership: Define team roles and responsibilities, ensuring alignment on goals and expectations. Foster engagement by promoting team effectiveness, a safe-to-speak environment, and recognizing achievements. Lead change management activities with robust plans and clear communication.

      • Business Agility: Utilize tools and routines to enhance transparency, collaboration, and roadblock removal. Encourage self-organization and cross-functionality within the team. Track performance and drive process improvements using data insights.

      • Stakeholder Management: Identify and prioritize stakeholder needs, ensuring effective onboarding and communication of strategic goals. Build trust through transparency, manage conflicts, and maintain strong relationships with partners.

      • Planning & Schedule Management: Develop fit-for-purpose project structures balancing value and delivery frameworks. Create and adapt plans as priorities shift, guiding the team through ambiguity and focusing on high-value work. Communicate schedule updates clearly to stakeholders.

      • Continuous Improvement: Promote feedback to simplify processes and champion innovative thinking. Implement frameworks to drive continuous improvement and optimize workflows.

      • Communication & Facilitation: Deliver clear, tailored communications to stakeholders and teams. Facilitate inclusive and relevant meetings, leveraging tools to enhance engagement and clarity.

      • Risk Management: Proactively assess risks and issues, engaging stakeholders and implementing mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions. Maintain transparent communication on risk status.

      • Delivery Tools & Frameworks: Lead adoption of enterprise tools (Jira, Confluence, Planview, Mural) to support delivery. Apply and educate teams on RBC’s project management policies, standards, and frameworks.

      What do you need to succeed?

      Must have:

      • Minimum 3-5 years of experience leading large-scale, complex cross-functional projects.

      • Proven ability to navigate ambiguity while applying delivery frameworks to achieve successful outcomes.

      • Expertise in driving organizational change, fostering collaboration, promoting transparency, and aligning stakeholders on shared goals.

      • Demonstrated agile delivery experience, including setting up agile squads, influencing ways of working, and establishing effective routines.

      • Experience in measuring initiative value by setting and monitoring objectives and key results aligned with business goals.

      • Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills, with a focus on influencing outcomes and building partnerships with senior leaders and vendors.

      • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, including tailoring messages, delivering presentations, and leading discussions for senior audiences.

      • Advanced planning expertise, with experience creating and maintaining integrated project schedules, roadmaps, and status reports.

      • Experience in project financial management, including budget planning, forecasting, cost-benefit analysis, and vendor invoicing.

      • Proficient in risk and issue management, including conducting assessments, developing mitigation strategies, and ensuring transparent reporting.

      Nice to Have:

      • Bachelor's degree in business administration (BBA/MBA).

      • Professional Certifications including PMP/PGMP, CSM/ACSM, SAFE.

      • Hold a recognized Change Management certification such as CCMP, Prosci, or APMG.

      • Experience in managing large business or technology projects at a large financial services company.
