- Coordinate management of multiple, related high-priority and/or high-risk projects where the scope of the project is aligned with key strategic initiatives.
- Lead Project Coordinators and project teams to deliver complex business or technical support and/or development, integration and implementation projects.
- Apply program management and project management principles and techniques to manage scope, timeline, resources, stakeholders, communications and risk throughout the project lifecycle and to ensure success of key strategic programs.
- Performs all project leadership and program leadership assignments without close supervision.
- Works independently on all phases of IS projects including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, control and close.
- Assembles project teams, assigns individual responsibilities, identifies appropriate resources needed and develops schedule to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Provides leadership and direction to Project Coordinators. Monitors schedule and health of component projects and operations, while working to ensure the ultimate success of the program.
- Provides project leadership, guidance, and assistance to cross-functional project team members including business users and vendors.
- Develops program documentation and facilitates status updates with IS leadership.
- Works with IS Managers to coordinate the sharing of resources among their constituent projects to the overall benefit of the program.
- Provides stakeholder management and effectively communicates project status to team members and project stakeholders, including IS Managers, senior management, and executive level leaders.
- Develops and executes stakeholder management, risk management and communication plans as appropriate for the assigned projects.
- Facilitates effective meetings including project planning, project update, gate review, stakeholder update and lessons learned.
- Develops project plans and schedules and facilitates task estimation sessions with team members.
- Documents project scope, project decisions, project issues and risk mitigation plans.
- Supports project related activities, including coordination of off-shift and weekend tasks and meetings.
- Participates in accomplishment of continuous improvement objectives for the department. Progress toward accomplishment of these is measured through maintenance of necessary measurements and analysis of associated data. Participates in the identification of problem areas and development of resolutions to address them.
- Understands the Harassment policy of the company and is responsible for its application in all aspects of employment.
- Advanced knowledge of and the demonstrated ability to apply project management principles used by FPD.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional, technical project teams.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve complex project management issues in a timely manner.
- Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycle methodologies used to implement system changes.
- Advanced time management and task coordination abilities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current application and/or infrastructure.
- Advanced knowledge of project management software.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the finance industry and experience in technical project implementation.
- Demonstrated ability to build consensus in cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to train and advise employees on the use of advanced project management tools and principles.
- Demonstrated knowledge of procedures and operations of the functional business areas.
- Demonstrated ability to reinforce high quality standards driven by company objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to create and maintain an environment conducive to collaboration across corporate business units and service divisions.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Demonstrated ability to lead change.
- Demonstrated ability to listen to others and communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Skilled motivator with demonstrated ability to serve as a strategic, stakeholder-focused business partner and project leader for large and complex initiatives with significant technical components. Leading ERP initiatives wherein project teams are comprised of in-house business and technical team members as well as 3rd party consultants is a plus.
- Demonstrated and thorough understanding of the SDLC relative to project management. Effectively balances degree of process rigor needed relative to business risk and project need.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively inspire, influence, and communicate with project teams, stakeholders, and sponsors (including executive level).
- Understanding of Agile and/or Lean methods and principles is a plus.
- A 4-year college or university degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and 7 - 9 years of experience managing Information Services projects is recommended.
- Equivalent experience may be substituted for education.
