      The Property Inspector is responsible for conducting thorough inspections of properties to assess their condition and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations. This role involves evaluating structural integrity, safety features, and overall maintenance of properties. The inspector documents findings, prepares detailed reports, and communicates any issues or concerns to property owners or managers. Additionally, the Property Inspector may provide recommendations for repairs or improvements and follow up to ensure that corrective actions have been taken. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently while adhering to local building codes and safety regulations.

      • Conduct various types of property inspections including annual, reserve, loss draft, new business, and special request inspections across the U.S., and in foreign countries as needed.
      • Schedule inspections in an orderly and cost-efficient manner to ensure timely completion.
      • Review prior inspections and consult databases such as McCracken, ASUR, and IDM, as well as other departments, to gather pertinent information about properties before conducting inspections.
      • Complete additional research as needed and prepare detailed written inspection reports documenting findings.
      • Evaluate structural integrity, systems functionality (electrical, plumbing, HVAC), and overall property maintenance during inspections.
      • Accurately document inspection results and communicate them to property owners, managers, and other relevant stakeholders.
      • Provide recommendations for necessary repairs or improvements based on inspection findings and follow up to ensure implementation.
      • Manage multiple inspection appointments efficiently to meet deadlines and maintain a database of completed inspections.
      • Collaborate with local authorities and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with building codes and safety standards.
      • Investigate complaints and concerns regarding building conditions raised by tenants or property managers.
      • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay updated on the latest industry standards and inspection techniques.
      • Assist in the development and revision of inspection processes and protocols to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
      • Other duties as assigned.

      We are passionate about your growth, so to achieve success in this role you should have:

      • Proven experience in property inspection or a related field, with a strong understanding of building codes and safety regulations.
      • Excellent observational and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and document potential issues accurately.
      • Strong communication skills, capable of explaining technical information clearly and effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
      • High level of organization and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
      • Can perform all inspections performed by Industry Trained & Certified inspectors (Exempt Inspector Agency Guidelines).
      • Has at least five years’ experience performing multifamily inspections comparable to Freddie Mac’s inspections and has completed more than 100 of such inspections
