Own and drive Product Development/New Product Introduction (NPI) Quality deliverables through all phase gates.
Work with internal teams to increase customer satisfaction by improving the quality of NPI products shipping to customers for evaluation, and beta trials.
Troubleshoot customers issues using structured 8D problem solving methods and diagnosing potentially complex issues. Drive critical issues with urgency and effectively communicate solutions to customers.
Prepare customer specific quality deliverables including first article inspection reports, audit support and resolution of action items, failure analysis reports and other deliverables as needed.
Demonstrate skills in preventive quality methods and compliance, statistical data analysis, critical thinking, structured problem solving (8D), the use of metrics to identify opportunities, and business process improvement.
Demonstrate skills in managing manufacturing quality issues, experience in setting up product, and process quality controls for the equipment assembly line in an NPI environment.
Monitor the entire NPI production cycle and perform regular tests to identify potential malfunctions as early as possible.
Collaborate on DFMEA, PFMEA activities with engineering and technical operations teams. Identify critical parts, assemblies and processes develop associated control plan(s).
Use statistical methodologies to analyze data and implement action plans.
Demonstrate strong communication, leadership, & customer management skills.
Coach and lead cross-functional teams for Kaizen/Lean/Six Sigma improvement projects.
Develop, maintain, and continuously improve QMS processes.
Produce clear and concise documents including procedures, reports, training materials and quality records.
Provide leadership on matters related to quality with counterparts in Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain.
Work closely with supplier quality personnel in resolving customer complaints.
A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, statistics, physics, chemistry, material science, etc., or 9+ years of experience in Quality Engineering and 3+ years of NPI Quality deliverables
5 years of QA Engineering experience, and 3+ years of NPI (New Product Introduction) Quality deliverables, in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Customer and Supplier Quality relationship management experience.
Experience with Quality and Reliability methodologies and tools, such as: 8D, FAI and FMEA
Experience and understanding of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality System Standard.
Experience in quality and manufacturing systems, business process improvement, and problem-solving.
Experience managing critical customer communications.
Must be able to work effectively across internal and external teams covering a wide range of product development disciplines.
Strong experience with Excel-pivot tables.
Strong leadership and presentation skills .
Experience with additional Quality and Reliability methodologies and tools such as: PPAP, DMAIC, Gauge R&R, DFx, DOE, Six Sigma, etc., is preferred.
Experience with Lean, 6S, zero-defect manufacturing processes, inspection methods, and tools.
Knowledge of IPC-A-610, IPC-J-STD-001 desired.
Possess a high level of self-motivation to work diligently to achieve goals under demanding program schedules.
Power BI and Minitab experience is a plus.

A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As a Senior Quality Engineer, NPI, in the Power Solutions Business, of our Vacuum Solutions Division, you will lead the Quality activities for NPI (New Product Introduction) projects. You will partner with Manufacturing, Design Engineering, Tech Operations, Supplier Quality and Materials, and other functional areas. You will also closely collaborate with your Quality Engineering counterparts and inspection personnel.

Compensation and Benefits:
Salary Pay Range: $78,400 to $145,600 per year. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.
Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS.
