- Analyze Seniors Housing and Skilled Nursing real estate, including generating pro forma valuations and sizing appropriate loan options.
- Review pertinent market information, including rent/sale comps, capitalization rates, market vacancy, trends, and other data necessary to evaluate specific loan opportunities, including competitor information.
- Prepare loan memos, writing narrative reports that recommend, justify, and describe not only the loan request but also the relevant and supporting information.
- Liaise with the client team to gain an understanding of complex issues.
- Perform Balance Sheet and REO Analysis for Principals of transactions.
- Oversee deal processing from preliminary analysis to closing, including oversight of due diligence materials.
- Interface with the underwriting team and external parties, including owners of real estate, providers of capital, vendors, consultants, and attorneys.
- Oversee reviews of draft copies of the Appraisal, Engineering, and Phase I Reports.
- Mentor and direct Real Estate Analysts on projects and deal-related tasks, including cash flow and cost report analysis.
- Leverage the company’s centralized resources, including teams based in India.
- Assist branch originators in marketing company products, services, and recent successful transactions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Some travel required.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work in a deadline-driven, dynamic, and fast-paced environment.
- Experience interfacing with clients and third-party consultants.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Three to five years of prior experience in a similar position.
- Intermediate Excel skills strongly preferred.

Senior Real Estate Analyst - Seniors Housing & Healthcare plays a critical role at Berkadia, utilizing their expertise in Seniors Housing & Skilled Nursing Real Estate finance to manage transactions, lead analytical projects, mentor Real Estate Analysts, and to support Berkadia’s Mortgage Banking professionals to meet the needs of Berkadia’s customers. The Senior Real Estate Analyst will have experience working on many sector specific real estate transactions, with experience conducting due diligence, valuing properties, sizing loans, and overseeing critical process driven tasks to drive transactions to closing.

The provided base salary information for this position is part of an overall national range. The actual salary within our range for this position will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to the scope, complexity and location of the role, the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate.
