      The Senior Regulatory Compliance Analyst is responsible for leading and driving complex regulatory and compliance changes to promote a compliance culture and reduce enterprise risk related to noncompliance with applicable laws and regulations. This role involves monitoring, tracking, and summarizing legislation and regulatory changes in assigned jurisdictions, and providing compliance guidance, advice, and recommendations throughout the implementation of said changes. In addition, the Senior Regulatory Compliance Analyst serves as a compliance subject matter expert for specified business functions, offering guidance and support for business partner compliance inquiries, questions, and business initiative projects. This role requires cross-functional collaboration and ability and confidence to operate in areas of ambiguity and regulatory compliance complexity.

      Qualifications

      • 4 + years in regulatory compliance required.
      • Bachelor’s degree required.
      • Master’s degree in law, regulatory compliance, public health, or related fields preferred.
      • Health insurance regulatory experience preferred.
      • Knowledge of health care industry issues and understanding of compliance, audit, or risk management functions.
      • Working knowledge of insurance terminology.
      • Strong analytical skills to analyze complex regulations and assess their applicability and impact to the organization.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey compliance requirements and guidance and influence the implementation outcomes.
      • Strong problem-solving skills to identify compliance issues and develop or recommend effective solutions.
      • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure all regulatory requirements are met and identify when incomplete or inaccurate information may be presented by business partners that may impact the desired compliance outcome.
      • Strong natural curiosity to ask questions and understand the why behind the compliance requirements and business operation processes.
      • Strong organizational and prioritization skill sets that enable one to drive toward outcomes in complex, ambiguous work.
      • Ability to demonstrate agility and a growth mindset when navigating the complex and ambiguous legislative and regulatory landscape.
      • Ability to collaborate, mobilize others, and influence without authority by building trust and communicating effectively.
      • Ability to demonstrate innovative and strategic thinking by questioning the derivation of facts, challenging conclusions, identifying assumptions and biases, and making decisions with incomplete data.
      • Skillset in bringing the team to high levels of achievement by finding lessons and inspiration in the success of others.
      • Project Management skills.
      • Working knowledge of Westlaw or other legal research databases.
      • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.
      • Working knowledge of SharePoint.


      Base Pay Information

      The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental’s assessment of the candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
      Pay Grade 20. $71,400 - $149,500

      Responsibilities

      • Communicate State-Specific Regulatory Changes – Effectively relay key updates resulting from regulator reviews or legislative changes, ensuring the business stays compliant and informed.
      • Advise and Influence Business Partners – Provide expert compliance guidance, strategic recommendations, and proactive solutions to support regulatory adherence.
      • Conduct In-Depth Regulatory Research & Analysis – Review state-specific laws, mandates, and regulations, delivering clear, actionable insights.
      • Foster Cross-Functional Collaboration – Engage with internal teams to drive timely execution of regulatory deliverables while ensuring transparency among subject matter experts.
      • Monitor & Report Compliance Performance – Track and communicate key compliance metrics, risks, and program effectiveness to stakeholders.
      • Implement Regulatory Compliance Procedures – Work directly with business teams to establish processes that align with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
      • Mentor & Develop Compliance Analysts – Guide team members in building and executing compliance programs, fostering a culture of regulatory excellence.
      • Lead Process Improvement Initiatives – Manage projects that enhance efficiency, optimize compliance workflows, and support enterprise-wide strategic goals.
